Bought a MAK-90 today from a friend (see thread below) and he included 500 rounds of ammo. I have never seen this stuff, but it must be good. 2 boxes of 20 still in box and all the rest was already mounted on 10 rnd. stripper clips.
The boxes are silver and say "7.62x39 cartridge lead core bullet steel case non-corrosive" with NORINCO in big red letters on the box and end flaps. Also states on the box that it is made in the P R of China! The only markings on the casehead is a 31 on top if the numbers are held straight and a 92 on the bottom. A lot of it has the numbers 71 and 92 on them.
Anybody know what I have got?

cphilip, thanks again for an interesting read! It did answer my questions and is now in my favorites listings!
Then if you liked that you need to join the AK forum too. Lots of info there.

Hi. Just curious -- where do you shoot in Spring? I have a private place up in the woods of East Texas, but I am looking for a rifle range here besides Carter Country ($$$).

Well, I am in the same boat as you when it commes to rifle ranges around Spring. Carters Country has gotten too expensive and I haven't found another place to shoot around here.
Let me know if you run across anything. Carl
