Congratulations.
Its a great carry gun. I used it when I was assigned in a hospital in Catanduanes near the area where there were many encounters between the PNP/AFP and NPA. "Mahirap na makidnap at madamay pag may sugatan sa kanila".
Its lightweight and easily concealable so i can bring it with me whenever I go, maintenance is also easy.I used to carry a 1911.
Just put a plug/mag guide on it, bought additional two G21 mags, uncle mike,s iwb holster and mag pouch and its ready to go.

Great choice. Got mine in 05. Love it. Can't say enough about it. Very easy to conceil. I carry mine everyday. I did put the Scherer mag plate on all of my mags though. I have big hands and my pinky was always slipping off. Made a big difference in the way it feels.

I would do what Bagito did though, front sight seems kind of cheap. When I bought mine I had to order it. When it arived the guy at the store opened the box and the front sight was missing. We found it in the box and reinstalled it. I don't like how it is heald in. Just a piece of metal like a wedge in the bottom of the sight inside the slide. Im thinking of getting a Sure Sight:

There only $89 but I don't know yet.
But like I said great choice.

GAP Stands for Glock Auto Pistol. It is just a shorter version of the 45ACP Cartridge. It is suppose to recoil less.
Hope that helps.

g30, my uncle has one and i've tried it, it's too big for me so if i want to pack .45 i will use a single stack 1911, for a glock i got the 26. if your hands are comfortable with a bigger gun, then good for you, the glock 30 will surely give satisfaction.

i think the idea behind the 45 gap (aside from glock having a proprietary cartridge to their name) was to allow a smaller platform to launch the same 230gr .452 projectile at the same 830fps velocity. . .hence the recoil will be the same. i have never tried firing one though so i really have no real world experience with it, it just would make sense it would recoil the same. newton.

Loved that gun but I felt I'm about to lose control of the thing during a shooting string. Great gun though.

I put TFO's on my G30 and G21. Love it and planning to get it also on my G17. Maliwanag sa dilim compared to others that I tried. I also put Scherrer on all my G30 mags.

There are people who say it's the most accurate of the Glock pistols.

I'd have to agree with that. Got back from the range today and shot both my G26 and G30 and without a doubt, I can shoot more accurately with the G30. Maybe it's due to the longer barrel as compared to the 26, or perhaps the bullet type, but if it weren't for the high cost of .45 ammo, I'd sell the G26 in a heartbeat. Plus, it's that much more fun to shoot!

Picked up my G30 last week from another Glocker locally and it came with TruGlo TFO's - they are real nice!

I also have the G26 and like it a lot - no problem with accuracy with the stock sights but did have problems with the Big Dots so I took them off.

As for the G30 it is easy to control and it seems that I'm at least as accurate shooting one handed - haven't figured out why just yet.

I got back from the range last night, and all the hush about the G30 was true.I put 100 rounds on mine, and out of the box, about 10 yards this pistol shoot at 2 inches grouping, and the recoil is mild compare to my other 45acp.
