Extended slide release

Anyone have a tutorial on how to install this? Maybe with some pictures.

On a Glock right? If not, the forget all this.

Start with field stripping your unloaded Glock per the manual.

Using a 3/32" punch, push the trigger pin out (from left to right). Do NOT just punch it through. You will need to wiggle the slide stop lever a little while pushing in order to get the grooves to line up just right.

Lift out the old slide stop lever, slide the new one in, making sure the spring stays under the locking block pin.

Reinsert the trigger pin (from right to left). The pin should click into place once the pin is seated.

Function check the new slide stop lever.

Reassemble the Glock, take to the range, and test.

If your gun has one, it will be much easier if you remove the locking block pin before trying to remove the trigger pin.

Removing the locking block pin releives the spring tension from the slide stop lever. This makes it easier to align the hole in the slide stop lever with the trigger pin.

You are giving out INCORRECT information on the INSTALLATION of the Slide Lock. This can cause a malfuntion of the Glock. The Locking Block Pin HAS TO BE Installed FIRST before installing the Slide Lock Lever.

Yea - ok.

The "slide lock" is not the part we are discussing. The locking block pin nor trigger pins have anything to do with the slide lock.

Please re-read my (unedited) post and quote the lines where I told him how to INSTALL anything.

There is also no "slide lock lever". As a "CGA" I would expect you to know this.

Actually, it doesn't. As long as you know enough to push the end of the slide stop lever spring under the pin as it is inserted into the frame, you are good to go.

It is easier to install the locking block pin first but it is far from a HAVE to.

Actually, IT DOES! You are giving out incorrect information that could cause a malfunction and could cause an issue. If the person your giving this information out to is not familiar with the Glock, it would not be wise to ASSUME they will install the Slide Stop correctly with your information.

I don't need to! I have repaired SEVERAL malfunctioning Glocks that someone that should not be working on them DID! The end result, a malfunction Glock!!

You both have good points of interist.
If the the SSL spring is slightly pushed downward when pushing out the LB pin first,the spring will place less pressure on the trigger pin for removal,however,if the spring isn't pushed downward when pushing the LB pin out,the spring can get bent and damaged.

The standard method of removal and replacement of the SSL/SRL would be to remove the trigger pin only(which will have more tention/pressure from the SSL spring),and never removing the LB pin at all,which i beleive is the method taught at a glock armorer's work shop.
