View Full Version : Question about G34/G35
I have for an itch to go buy one of the two. Not sure cause I don't shoot all the pistols I have. I currently own a 27 a 23 and just bought a 26 last weekend so either the 9mm or 40 would work when buying bulk ammo. I guess I wanted to know who has shot both of these guns and what was your opinion. Going to take that @#$% ppk/s back to the store I bought it from two weekends ago for my wife and trade up!

Buy a 35 in 40S&W, then get a storm lake conversion barrel in 9mm. That way you have the best of both worlds.
Remember, you can get conversion barrels for the 35 in .357 sig, 9mm, and even ported/threaded .40's, but you can't do that for the 34.
You have to have 9mm magazines for the 9mm, but you can use the .40S&W mags for .357 sig. That is all you need.
If you have the cash, buy both:supergrin:

Basically one has a sissy kick, while the other has a manly kick.
Go for the 35.
I've got it down to either a g24 or g35 now. Is it worth paying the extra money for the comp barrel?

I just bought a Glock 24C the other day. I have a Glock 35 right next to it (I like long slides) I haven't shot it yet. I am not really big on "C" model guns. My duty gun is a Glock 21C and I get the burnt powder showering my front sight post, blocking the green glow (I work nights). If night sights aren't a big deal to you, then a "C" model will probably work out great for you for a long gun (especially with a .40S&W). The recoil is a little snappier than .45 and much more noticable when compared to a 9mm. I think you will be pleasantly suprised, but you will have to do a lot of cleaning.
I got the 24C because I might want the ported barrel, but if I do not like it, then it will be very easy (and cheap) to get a drop in barrel in .40S&W without the porting, or in .357 sig. It is more expensive to buy a ported drop in barrel than a non ported aftermarket barrel.
Hope this helps.
Also, the 24/17L Glocks are getting scarcer all the time. They don't make them anymore and I would not bet that they will make another run at them anytime soon unless tons of people and screaming for em.
I also bought the 24C cheaper than what 24's are going for. It all depends where you go. I have seen 24's sell for $560 and other 24's sell for $750. Again, its all how hard you search.
Thanks trackstar55,
I have found your response very helpful. I have seen a new 35 for about $550 and the 24 new for $633. My local range has a 35 and a 22c (as close as I can get to a 24c) I can rent and I plan on shooting them next to my 27 and 23. When you shoot your 24 I would be real interested to hear a range report. Thanks again for the post!
