Kontra,

Magkano bili mo dyan including licensing?

Fucha, nahawa nako sa sakit nyo-este natin pala! Compatible with para-ordnance mags? May kailangan pa ba ipa-gunsmith dyan?

Hi-cap? I'm trying to make up my mind whether to get an Armscor or a Ranger 1911. Thanks

IF I were you, I'd go for the Armscor...parts are readily available, lots of options for modifications...

My dad converted his Armscor Hi-Cap into an extreme carry pistol by changing the barrel, polishing everything, got a great checkering job done, and smoothened the trigger pull. He gets Para-Ordnance performance and ammo capacity, but not as expensive...

Hi-cap: P27k
Std: P21k
licensing: P6.5k

what i have is the hicap model, practical series. what you see is still out of the box, no modifications. i intend to keep it that way for the meantime.

came with 2 13rnd mags, which is protruding from the grip, i tried their 12rnd mags, and it fits nicely. dont know if the para mags will fit. haven't tried, armscor have spare mags available at a fraction of the price. arnound P2.2k yata.

so far, no gunsmithing needed. nice performance. had 2 ftf out of 50rnd, was easily rectified by my brother. (did some minor filing in one of the parts inside).

my brother did a detail strip on the day we got it. most of the internal parts (springs, etc) looks imported. this is my first armscor gun, so i really dont know if they really have good production lines or they use imported parts. there goes my target of being all local. well, at least i bought it from a 100% locally owned company.

ranger 1911, i posted it before, asking for feedabcks. the thread is buried here somewhere. they dont recommend the ranger as it is not 100% compatible with the other 1911 parts.

hi kontra, i had an armscor ss commander in 45 cal before. ok nman it just needs a little tuning but overall its a good 1911. regarding the ftf... i experienced that also... all it needs is barrel throating and a little polishing. i regret selling it  but i got a hi-cap 40cal to replace it.... still an armscor

hi MRV, if ur planning to use it for competition i'd suggest u get the hi-cap in 40cal. it has more rounds than the 45 and less recoil. :) nkaka-addict tlga mga pics lalo na if nka dress-up!!! i just bot a hi-cap 40cal last gun show and nsa gunsmith right now for some tuning and dressing up. di ko pa nkukuha and i want to get a SS in 45cal na hehehehe :) ang GASTOS!!!

i plan to use my armscor out of the box. and see how it performs and how long it will perform well. maybe an armscor bull barrel and a local one piece guide rod and the rest stock. that's it. kung wala lang itong bwisit na gun ban na ito, naka dami na sana tayo ng putok.

i like to be the devil sometimes (ang lagay eh, ako lang ang nademonyo? dapat meron din ako damay)....here is another pic.

Is this due to mag. capacity issues or there's more to it sir?

yan din nga na notice ko eh. i havent heard any IPSC champion na gumamit ng .45cal and they mostly use .40cal like the well know Todd Jarrett.

I am used with 9mm and has fired .45cal pero haven't fired a .40cal kaya di ko alam difference eh. Baka naman pwede kayo magbigay ng TIPs. would really want to know 'why not .45cal?' and 'why .40cal?'

All I know about .40cal is the jam-matic and FTF and the only advantage I know is the recoil is good compare with .45cal:)

in my opinion its only capacity.

The recoil of the 40 in fast powders is a little more violent than the 45.

as of the jammamatic 40, i think its an urban myth. any reputable pistol will be reliable with any caliber.

the armscor is reliable and accurate enough for ipsc work.

Also the 40 is a high pressure round as it is. Notice there are no 40 cal +p or +p+? Thus it expands the base of the round faster than the 45.

There are a lot of solutions to this but the easiest way is to have the shell reloaded with a good resizing die. dillon dies wont work without mods. egw and lee are great choices. The former is undersized but both resize the whole shell to the base.

good luck with your decision.

Not if your using a fully supported barrel. Inherent with glocks ( no pun intended).

Mardedeleon76.

Tagal ng waiting time sa part hunter and westpoint. Sa hann, no idea. but if u want it fast,as in not more than two weeks, and, u have a car, go to Olympic Arms in San Carlos, Pangasinan. Im not sure if they have a branch in Dagupan now (ask glck17 to be sure). Bought two units from them, glock 17 and a norinco 1911- got them in a week.

how many more rounds does the para have compare to armscor mags if u change the base pads? :) i'm planning to buy 1. is it worth it or should i just get the armscor mags?

dre,
talk to your smith about mag modification on the armscor mag, he could fabricate a basepad and that could give you an ipsc legal 19 tp 20 rounds depending on the height of your bomar, modification of the follower is also needed, no need for the para mag

Yes, one can do that but remember, we have one member who ordered online from Topglock and his mag was lost between the Pacific Ocean and Phil Post Office. You might want to check with local law if importing mag is legal. You don't want to do something outside the law.

As I re-call when I attended the Safety Seminar, the 5 major parts of firearm are:
1) Frame
2) Slide
3) Barrel
4) MAGAZINE
5) I always forget the last one.
