View Full Version : Glock Armorer List??

Part 1.
Would it be to intrusive to start a sticky with a list of Glock Armorers and where they're located to help facilitate quicker fixes or replacement parts under warranty for our Glocks without having to ship them off to Glock?
Part 2.
Me personally, I need my firing pin replaced in my G22 because it was worn and I bought it new (factory reconditioned) but they never noticed or replaced it. Glock won't send those parts out to general owners because of liability issues and I really don't want to pay $25 for a new one when it should have been new or at least not worn out (in the safty engagement area) when I bought it. Finding an Armorer in my area of Massachusetts is proving fruitless.
Any ideas on helping me and probably many others in this situation?
Thanks folks!

There are hundreds of dealers on the net to get replacement parts. And glock parts are easy enough for anyone to replace.
edited to add, what is worn out on the striker?

I think he mentioned that it was the ...
in the safty engagement area
SOunds like peening from the pin contacting the safety.
On topic, I think it would be a good idea to list the Armorers.

That's exactly what it is PP914 and it should have been caught when Glock reconditioned the pistol for resale but it's now in my hands with the damage still present and it needs to be fixed.
Please see the attached picture at bottom of page.
Yes of course I can buy the firing pin for $25.00 or so and install it myself - But I should be able to have it fixed for FREE through a Glock Armorer under warranty and not waste my $25.00, I just can't find anyone around me to do it under warranty -
Heck, if there's an Armorer that wants to take my Ser. # for the warranty and send me the firing pin and firing pin saftey, i'll gladly send you the couple bucks it took to ship it to me.
I just figured if there wasn't some moral dilema or reason why these people who took the course to repair these pistols shouldn't be included in a list on a forum all about our Glocks and keeping them in tip top shape, then let's start one and help eachother out.
I'm not saying list them off like they owe us something just because they took the course, i'm saying let's compile a RESOURCE.
The amount of information we all share on here is mind boggling but amazing at the same time.
I just found it odd that this list hadn't been started already.
Thanks for putting up with my rants and run on sentances - sweet dreams

TexasHP. Your caption on the photo says you can push the FP nose through the breachface by pushing on the lug. Are you disengaging the FP safety while doing this? I assume not but had to ask.
Also, I know you don't want to, but you can call GLOCK and explain the issue. They should send you a shipping label for your slide assembly and fix it for free. Yes, your pistol will be down awhile, but it's not really fit for carry if it's in the condition you describe.
Lastly, minor FP safety peening is, in my limited experience, normal. I know of at least 7 G22's with light peening on them that function properly right now.

As a note most Glock armorers either work in law enforcement or a firearms related buisness and do not do warrenty work, that is handle by Glock factory.
So either you can buy one and do it your self or send it back to Glock.

I see Glockmeister still keeps a map of armorers, but it's only as up to date as the voluntary participation by armorers permits. Perhaps a sticky by geographic area wouldn't be a bad idea here, as it seems GT is the place people come to. Bear in mind also that many who've attended the course are certified armorers in the same sense that an MD is a doctor, i.e., levels of expertise vary from the intern who sees a handful of guns/problems a year, to the 'Chief of Internal Medicine' who has literally seen hundreds (sometimes thousands) of patients.
A Glock armorer who is current, strictly speaking, could get the part for you and install it. That's why Glock trains & certifies them. Since most work needed on a Glock, other than abusive stupidity, is handled as warranty work the impression that all things must go back to the factory is not quite correct. (Glock sometimes takes care of things caused by abusive stupidity as well...)
If the nearby armorer search doesn't pan out, call Glock and ask them for their Stocking Dealer list in your area; they may have someone on staff who's been to the course. As it appears you're patient but rightly want it fixed, the wait while the armorer orders the part through their area rep shouldn't be a problem.
Alas, as most armorers know, all area reps aren't equally endowed either... ;)

Thank you WIG19, I couldn't get the words out but you said it exactly. I actually lucked out - one of the guys I shoot IDPA with gave me one of his brand new backup firing pins untill I have $$ comming in from my new job so I can replace it.
I had also looked on the list WIG19 put up AND called Glock for listings a month ago. The only listings Glock could come up with for me were dealers that were participating in some promotional program and part of the promotion for the dealer was a seat in the Armorers class. Weather or not they actually took the class was unknown to Glock. So I called all listed and there were no dealers that could do anything for me in terms of having a certified Glock Armorer with their business.
So I turned to all the smart folks on GT to see if there was some way to get some quick help and to help others in the future
Thanks a bunch WIG19 for the lengthy reply

They agree to buy a minimum number of Glocks to sell each year & get some special pricing on those. They also get the special course application forms that provide a seat in the class at no expense to the attendee (other than getting to wherever the nearest one is held). Sometimes that person is one of the in-house staff, sometimes just a good customer who they sponsor and give the seat to. The phone number you called may not have known whether an indiv took the course, but Glock's Tng Div would know and the dealers themselves would know.
That reminds me... it's after the SHOT Show, the new 'basic load' of Glocks should be on their way shortly, and I'm up for re-cert this year. Holy Cow! Maybe I'll learn something this year about...
the new carbine-length, Picatinny-railed, skinny-as-a-Colt-Woodsman, 43-round-capacity Glock!

The training division should also maintain a "fairly" recent list of certified armorers. I assume this is how they verify our certification when we order parts and provide our cert date.
