can someone here please explain some terms for me?

SAR-1
SAR-2
WASR
MISR
AKM

and any other terms one might need when looking to buy an AK.

I have a Maadi, and it's a mess, canted sights, bad wood, poor finish etc.

I want to buy something nice and as close to the "standard" as possible.

AKM: the modernized military AK (most of the world's AK's are actually AKM's) started building around 1959,when they went back to, as intended, stamped recievers. A few minor touchups they learned building the first million or so.

MISR: Egyptian
SAR 1,2,3 are Romanian.
WASR is a single-stack 10 round mag AK made for the Kalifornistan market, most have now been converted to take 30 round mags.
