I have a GL1002, and on their weblinky, they say no go on the compensated models.

Reasons?

This is a complete guess but they might be worried that the hot gases escaping from the ports will either melt the light gathering tube or cloud it with carbon deposits. Other than that I can't see a reason for not using them with the compensated models.
