View Full Version : Advantage Arms .22 Conversion Accuracy?

While I know the Advantage Arms GLOCK .22 conversion won't magically turn a G19 into a S&W Model 41, I would like to find out what sort of accuracy to expect. My G19 will consistantly group 5 shots into 2.5"-3.0" @ 25 yards (w/ precision re-crowned factory barrel and mildly tuned action) using good 9mm ammo (Hornady XTP). It's been my experience that the .22lr is "generally" a more accurate caliber than 9mm. Has anyone who shoots an Advantage Arms GLOCK conversion done any serious accuracy tests with high-grade ammo? I'm not talking "soda cans at 15 feet" but something a bit more...uh, objective.
I'm not expecting Hammerli Olympic Match accuracy (although my Marvel .22 1911 conversion delivers M.O.A. @ 50 yards) but if these Advantage Arms conversions can't deliver <2.0" 5 shot groups at 25 yards I just would't find much fun in buying & shooting one.
Thanks!

I just found this question and noticed that there were no replies. I have an Advantage Arms conversion (LE) for my Glock 19. I can keep a full 10 round in the bulleye of a standard NRA 50 foot indoor slow fire target with a two hand hold. I don't shoot my Model 41 much better. The AA conversion is plenty accurate.

I just got this conversion kit (LE model for my Glock 19) and have only put a few clips through it so far, so I am by no means an authority on it.
That said, I noticed the accuracy to be less than the target WWB 9mm I was also shooting that day. I was using the big ol' box of Remington golden bullet 22s - so I don't expect much consistency from that.
45MoonClip - were you using the CCI mini's with that accuracy? Does it make that much of a difference?
Here is the 22:

and here is the 9mm:

I usually use CCI mini mags as recommended, but I've used all kind of .22 long rifle brands and I have not noticed much difference at 50 feet. They all seem to impact at the point of aim and I have not touched the sights. I'll try to get a photo of my targets posted. The ten shot group that I mentioned was ten careful shots unsupported with a two hand hold. I'll try to shoot some fresh targets groups with the AA conversion tomorrow.

I have the AA kit for a G19. It has been a year or more, but when I first got it, I took it out to test the accuracy. I always used MiniMags. My kit was noticeably more accurate than the parent G19 that I was shooting. I would agree that the accuracy (and reliability) was on par with any normal .22 semi auto that you can buy off the shelf. And speaking of Model 41s, my AA kit is definitely more reliable than the M41s that I have had.
I would buy another one, and in fact, I don't shoot any of my other .22s anymore.
I have an AA kit for a G19.
My best groups are 4" or so at 25 yards. That's with premium .22 LR ammo. With the cheap bulk pack stuff it's more like 6"+ at 25 yards.
AA's web site says most users report 2" groups at 25 yards.
