View Full Version : Shooters Wanted for Sports mag article
The country's fastest growing sports magazine, Airsoft Xtreme is looking to feature practical shooting either IPSC or IDPA for its 3rd issue coming this June. This magazine is so far the only local sports publication with international distribution having been made available to the US, UK and HK. (You may have seen our 2nd issue with Alyssa Alano in full battle dress on the cover). And although much of the magazine is about "airsoft", we are inviting shooters to be part of the magazine as we are also developing "airsoft IDPA". Gas blowback pistols or GBBs are now very popular among airsofters and "pistol games" of the CQB theme have a fan base of their own. With your help, we hope to professionalize the sport with the development of "Practical Airsoft". In addition, we are dedicating a column for real firearms replete with photos a la Ichiro Nagata so if you think your "baby's" photogenic, PM your contact details and we'll get in touch with you promptly!

krinkov, you might want to get in touch with Mr. Vince Pinto. He's the IPSC Secretary, IIRC. They had some plans with Japan's airsoft sport and was planning on having it "IPSC'ed". Baka meron siya'ng mabigay na tips for your article.

Nope sir McO. Hope you could PM me that info and all your contact nos. Regarding the question earlier if its the gun or shooter, the answer is BOTH. I will feature guns and shooters. I think it's about time we came up with a publication which caters to the sport we love...and we have pretty girls on the cover too!!!:laughabove:
Oh and by the way, the article on shooting tips and featured guns will be a regular "column/editorial" of the mag so you'll all get your "15-minutes" of Andy Warhol-ish fame! Pwede pang maulit-ulit kasi printed material.:banana:

question lang krinkov...i am just curious why would you want to IPSCize airsoft? isn't the fun of the whole game is that you can actually play and shoot at real live targets that also shoot back?
pero i think it is good training and exercise, although i have never really engaged in airsoft matches. ang mamahal kasi nang gamit, everytime i have enough for anything decent na airsoft, pinambibili ko nang firearm.
teka, na mention na may mga naglalaro nang airsoft na pistols only? parang mas afford ko yata yun ah, ano ang brand nang pistol na gas blow back na high end that makes an airsoft glock?

Hmmm....medyo mahaba ang sagot: actually, it would be more of an IDPA-ish style of shooting as you MUST not drop gas blowback mags! mababasag yun at sira ang internal tank. As to the rational...you've got a point--why shoot paper when you have live targets? Personally I've seen how these guys play with pistols. Let's just say, some haven't really had any training so yes, it's the training and somehow it would also be fun to do a regimented(academic)training of airsofters.
As to the affordability thing, you'd be surprised that it would cost you more to get a GBB than a decent full-auto electric gun. hehehe! The thing is, pistols are softer shots than AEGs at something like 300FPS. AEGs push the 450FPS mark. Average cost of entry level china AEG is 5k, GBBs like the high-end Marui Glock 17 may fetch up to 7k.

Actually, call nyo. I'm covering a game this weekend. I'll need to devote one weekend for BOGs alone. Kahit weekday siguro. We can sked the week of the 12-17th march. It has to be in a firing range para kumpleto ang ambience for the Practical Shooting segment and I'll just have to make "house calls" to photograph your guns. well, as a rule: firearms, bladed weapons/instruments and pyrotechnics are not allowed in gamesites. it may be remote but it's always possible to mistake your 1911s and Glocks for GBBs and vice-versa. and most important of all: Bawal ang Pikon!

hahaahahahahahahaha! The cover will be shot in an undisclosed location. Most definitely out-of-town. I might be able to shoot some girls but I might need official clearance from the Armscor management. How do I go about that? I've lost most of my contact nos. along with my old cell #. Mahigpit na ata ang ASRI ngayon? Another thing, the guns are a vital part of the article too. I'll check with my boss if it's ok to do house calls. I think I can simulate the "range ambiance" in your homes. Afterall, all I need are decent mug shots para mataas ang pogi points nyo. Lastly, my priorities are changing by the minute with articles for the mag coming in from as far as Canada and UK. I've got tons of things to read through and "blue pencil". There's a good chance the Cover shoot will push through on the 17th so malabo na naman ako for the 18th. We have to be able to work something out.

Well, my cover photo shoot is pushing through on the 17th. Somewhere away from Manila. I'll be doing other editorial layouts as well while I'm away. Scratch na naman ang sked ko.

I've definitely got that lined-up in my sights!:laughabove: Hope to be a member of BOG GC someday and BOG Photo Club in the soonest possible time. Meron akong event that you might want to be a part of as it will involve your special skills but more on that in future posts. In the meantime, pano ba tayo magkikita????? I'm doing the cover shoot this weekend and I still have to do the cover story after or even before that. Deadline coming up fast and crunchtime for me.:sad:

emac... sorry i had to back out. i just had surgery for my gall bladder last wed and i doubt if i would be okay by tuesday next week. i called the station to inform them and i thought i would do the same with you. maybe in another week or so pag hindi na ako ika-ika.
