I know y'all will get a kick out of this. My lodge in the Houston area has a safe just outside the entrance to the main lodge room. The idea is that you place your carry gun in the safe and it's locked until after lodge.

What do ya think???

Nothing offensive or defensive in the body of the open lodge.

I am armed 99% of the time but I lock up my G 27 in my car during lodge meetings.

I dont think a safe at the lodge is a bad idea!

The Grand Lodge of Pa,
(which is a incredible building)
has lock boxes near the front desk.

I think its a great idea.

In IL, since there is no CCW, only LEO's carry here. There is no lock box available, and most probably wouldn't use it. Being in a small town, the LEO's are required to be armed at all times. The Grand Lodge has stated that it is allowed depending on the individual lodge ruling.

I am a LEO and a Mason. I ocassionly visit a Lodge in Fort Worth which a lagr number of LEOs are members. The Secretary's safe in his office serves a storage place during the meeting. We also have LEO degree teams to confer degrees on officers.
