Bombers Will Appear over Mobile, Alabama!

The "Freedom Tour” of the EAA Aviation Foundation will be flying
a B17 B24 and a B25

onto Brookley Field (Mobile, Alabama) next week.

This info is going from memory - what I heard on 710 am radio this morining.

The aircraft are scheduled to arrive Monday afternoon. Public view times 2pm to 5 pm

Tues 9am to 5 pm

Wed 9am to 12 noon - then depart.


Touring the parked aircraft will cost $10 adults, $5 kids 12 and under


A flight in the B17 and/or B24 will cost a tax deductable donation of $420 dollars.


It would be very kool to catch a photo of those planes buzzing the Battleship USS Alabama.

Thanks for the pics!! Do they still have the planes on display by the USS Alabama? Its been a few years since I've been there.

Yes, They have aircraft. Hurricanes have left them in poor shape and there is still a lot of repair to be done. This was reported to me last week when a co-worker visited. Their largest resident is a B-52.

I finally got to see some of the touring aircraft last year at the Shelby County Airport with my father. He was a tail gunner in the B-17. My brother and I were able to take the day off and we were there nearly all day. It was a great experience. I highly recommend it to anybody. My brother and I are already saving up in hopes of taking a flight this year along with his son.
