If you tired of the Anna Nicole Drama... This is the ticket!

This thread will be the "Official Thread" or maybe the "Wailing Wall" or list for "Top Ten excuses as to why you shot so poor".

Well how did it go?
Did the match run smoothly?
How did the RO's do?
Did you Smile for Candid Camera, the ones on the walls?
How did customized guns fair against stock guns?
Did anyone pass off a XD for a Glock?
Did the Red Dot's show up?
How was the temperature?
How was the score sheets?
Did anyone Join the GSSF?
Who was the Drama King or Queen?
Did the GLIPSIC Shooters take home top honors?
Did you have fun?
Did you learn anything?

I wanted to be there but I ended up working. I will try to make the next one.

> Well how did it go?
Good.

> Did the match run smoothly?
I was in the first two groups at the line. Everything went extremely smooth in those lines. I could stay for long after I finished up.

>How did the RO's do?
One RO, Barry (owner). Did a fine job.

>Did you Smile for Candid Camera, the ones on the walls?
Didn't notice them.

>How did customized guns fair against stock guns?
I don't know. Both of my guns were in the stock category

>Did anyone pass off a XD for a Glock?
Feh. I don't know why you'd want to handicap yourself in this competition.

>Did the Red Dot's show up?
No, I didn't see any elderly sissies on the premises. My errors on the target were not the result of bad sight alignment. They were caused by trigger jerks.

>How was the temperature?
Comfortable. I took my coat off to shoot.

>How was the score sheets?
Well done. Mark from GSSF did a great job of teaching scoring to the OpenRange feller.

>Did anyone Join the GSSF?
I renewed.

>Who was the Drama King or Queen?
Joey Barnesfather.

>Did the GLIPSIC Shooters take home top honors?
My best score (of two) was a 496. I left the door wide open. Brian S also shot some excellent targets. I left before John W. shot.

>Did you have fun?
Yes, absolutely. I recommend it. And the free coffee wasn't bad at all.

>Did you learn anything?
- Computerized rotating targets are different (different != bad)
- Jumping at a visual cue is slower than jumping at an auditory cue.
- Barry really did his home work when he implemented the HVAC in the shooting bays. The air quality is as nice as the decor.
- I could get used to computerized rotating targets and superior air-quality

Dom You beat me cause the best I could shoot was a 490. Nice range and Barry was falling all over himself to make all the GSSF shooters happy. They did a great job on the first match. Grady did shoot a 500 and Leigh Ann beat John Whitt I think. I have to belive that all this fast shooting is not what GSSF Indoor shooters need so I may have to decide what I am going to shoot.

Well how did it go?
-Great, of the three local ranges I've shot indoor GSSF by far the best.
Did the match run smoothly?
-Yes, some funny moments with the computerized targets.
How did the RO's do?
-Very good
Did you Smile for Candid Camera, the ones on the walls?
-Laughed, Smiles and frowned when my target came back.
How did customized guns fair against stock guns?
-Customized...Nah I just had Dean do a little trigger work :)
Did anyone pass off a XD for a Glock?
-Thought about writting GLOCK on my P226 and shooting, but couldn't find any chalk.
Did the Red Dot's show up?
-I saw one
How was the temperature?
-Perfect
How was the score sheets?
-Standard GSSF sheets
Did anyone Join the GSSF?
-Yes
Who was the Drama King or Queen?
-I would have to say Barry when the targets were acting up. (Sorry Barry couldn't resist) Beth and her calm cool manner about beating me again.
Did the GLIPSIC Shooters take home top honors?
-Good question
Did you have fun?
-Lets see good people, firearms, food, coffee, and shooting....yes
Did you learn anything?
-Yes, beat Beth next time. : )

It was a good match all the way around, free coffee and cookies. Looking at the new G21SF and handling it only made me want one. I like the fact you have options with different rails, mag releases (so you can use your old G21 mags) etc.

Congratulations to Barry and his fine staff at Open Range! They did an outstanding job of hosting their first GSSF Indoor Match. The facility is second to none and the effort demonstrated by all was greatly appreciated. Well done!

Thanks to Glock's District Manager Mark L. for showing us the new Glock 45ACP short frame. It's always a pleasure to speak with you and thanks for making the trip down for the match.

Everyone I spoke with seemed pleased with the way things went. My son Conlon shot in his first GSSF Indoor and had a great time. We are both looking forward to the next match in the series and plan to make regular visits to Open Range to sharpen our skills. Thanks again to Barry and TJ and the rest of the crew at Open Range. Hope to see you all soon.

Grady

How was the score sheets? Green like they always are.
Did anyone Join the GSSF? Lots of people signed up with GSSF today
Who was the Drama King or Queen? That would have been Cary when I beat him!

Sure you were working. You were just afraid Leigh Ann would beat you again. She did whoop up on me.

:laughabove: SSSHHHH.....Somebody might let my secret out! Wait till you see the Glock stickers on my XD

I am glad this match was a success... If you recall past matches at Sportshooters and Bluegrass there was always something to complain about. Of course with the thread this week on optics, I had to "Agitate the Dots" .

Sounds like it was a blast.
