The Palomar Ranger District of the Cleveland National Forest (Cleveland
NF) and the Palm Springs-South Coast Field Office of the Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) are jointly releasing decisions for the safety closure of
the High Point Road area to target shooting. The Cleveland NF and the BLM
will be imposing a permanent closure to recreational target shooting for
the area. Attached is a press release and letter notifying the public of
the action.
A legal notice will be posted in the San Diego Union Tribune on Friday,
March 9, 2007. The notice will initiate a 45 day Appeal period for the
Cleveland NF and a 30 day Appeal period for the BLM.
