Fired my first G21 today! Somebody slap me! Is it my imagination that my G21 has less felt recoil than a G27? I have small hands, but can shoot the gun...should I leave well enough alone or send it off for a Grip Reduction!? It's bigger than my G17, but dern if it's recoil seems less than that of a G17.

Congrats on your new purchase TJS:thumbsup: You are not imagining anything the recoil of the G21 is light. You now have the ultimate combat fighting pistol.

You got that right! Now what do I do about that grip? Part of me says "Send it off!" other part says, "Save the Money! Keep it like it is!"
Here's a kicker: I shot it from the hip, one handed and hit the clay pigeon without bringing it to my eye! Like a revolver!
Also, where can I find bulk 45 ammo???

TJS,

Congrats, i too have recently got a Glock 21 and am loving this gun. I've had one or two in the past and tired of them, but this time i'm determined to keep it and enjoy it.

If you are shooting the gun as well as you say, then why waste the time and money to fix what ain't broken? Keep it as is and shoot the heck out of it.

The G21 is actually the G20, re-chambered for the .45acp. Point being that it's probably the most "overbuilt" .45acp made, as it was designed from the ground up for a much more powerful round(10mm). It really handles the .45acp with ease. Congrats, and dont butcher it with a grip reduction if you're already doing well with it.

Thank you to all for your wisdom! I was just thinking of all the ammo I could buy with that "grip reduction" money! By the way, Who on line has the best ammo bulk prices?

And as for being "overbuilt", YOU GOT THAT RIGHT! I like the G21 lots better than the Ruger P90. The G21 is one big pistol!

Wonder how easy/difficult it would be to conceal for CCW.

Yes, ammo and mags should be your first priorities followed closely by a holster.

Gun shows or WalMart is are usually the places locally to buy ammo, otherwise there are many on line.

I like to purchase ammo here www.outdoormarksman.combut they are also somewhat local and travel the gun shows.

If you're a hunter, you can setup your G21 for .45 Super and take deer, wild pigs and even blackbear.

I carry my G21 everywhere as my CCW. I used to carry a 1911, and it is no harder to hide than my Kimber Compact, and lighter.

Like the man said TJS, don't mess with what is not broken, if you are shooting well with it than just concentrate on ammo and a good holster.

Congrats on the 21.

As others have stated, don't mess with the grip. I have smallish hands yet the 21 grip feels fine to me. It is just as easy to conceal as any other pistol with a good belt and holster.

I buy Winchester 230 gr. JHPs at Wal-Mart. They are usually cheap enough to both practice with and carry. I know there are supposed to be other JHPs out there that are supposedly equal to the fist of the Almighty, but that's a whole 'nother argument. Practice, do your part, and you are better off than 95% of the people that carry.

You can get magazines cheap at www.cdnninvestments.com

Gunners Alley is a good place to find good holsters at prices that will not break you. Uncle Mikes and Fobus make good holsters cheap, but they stick out too far to conceal on me. Your mileage may vary.

Again, congrats on the 21, it's one fine weapon!
