When are they going to open the POW range at Atterbury?

The DNR website says construction should have taken a year. We are now past that date. Not sure if anybody knows.

i was visiting Elmore's Firearms the other day and Russ informed me that he had heard it should be opened back up with in a few weeks. hopefully by the end of this month.

I called them last week.. the answer was mid to late spring. Spring starts Tuesday

So, they are taking bids for operations, that seems odd.

OK I spoke to someone DNR who has some measure of responsibility at Atterbury.
Bidding for the vendor to operate the range was closed last Friday. Who was not revealed for good cause. I did get a confirmation of one vendor who did not even bid.
Many details are lacking. AN SOP is under development. No details. This SOP will include range rules and store guidelines. For your best chance to see what it may look like check out one of the other 2 ranges built or rebuilt in the last 3 years. Roush Lake is one.
