Are Straight or Fixed Blades legal to CCW...

I was wondering if it was legal to carry a fixed blade knife under a Florida CCW permit. I was told that it covered weapons but that it was changed only to firearms.

No, it hasn't been changed to firearms only.

You need to read the Florida Statutes, Chapter 790 (http://www.flsenate.gov/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=Ch0790/titl0790.htm).

790.001 Definitions.
790.01 Carrying concealed weapons.
790.06 License to carry concealed weapon or firearm.
