View Full Version : 21SF Holster Question
Am I correct in saying that the new 21SF will not fit into the Fobus 20/21 holster because of the new type rail?

Bear in mind that the 21SF's 1911 rail hangs down about an 1/8th of an inch below the dust cover. I finally got my Aker flatsider to fit my new pistol after backing out the tension screw quite aways. I don't have a Fobus, but since they are pretty tighly molded, it may not work. I've got a Kramer IWB for a 3rd Generation 21, and the SF is a tight fit. The only holster I currently have that doesn't seem to be a problem is a Blackhawk nylon tactical rig that was designed for a G22 with light.
I have a Safariland leather paddle-style holster for my G21 that I mainly use. Tried to fit my G21SF into it... it did fit, but it was *insanely* tight. I gave the holster's tension screw a few turns to loosen it, but it's still just too tight for all practical reasons.
As much as I love the functionality and look of the M1913 picatinny rail on the 21SF, I'm thinking about selling it later to pick up the 21SF with a standard rail when finally available in May (give or take a few more months depending on Glock's production status?). As lazy as I may be, I don't want to be buying a whole new set of holsters for the G21SF when I could simply use my current G21 holsters.

I could point out that by the time you sell your used 21sf w/ picatinny rail and purchase a new 21sf w/ standard rail, you will have lost more money than the price of a new holster....
