I happily use Wolf .45acp by the 1000s in my 1911s. Used to be $62/500 last year ......now it's $94

WWB, Blazer, or handload.

I prefer Winchester USA, Remington UMC and Federal American Eagle... regardless of caliber...
With one exception... in .38 Special, my wife uses Winchester 148 grain WC for home defense, and the best 'cheap' ammo to dulicate it for practice seems to be Sellier & Bellot's version (price is a real factor here!!! Check it out!!!)

Where do you get it for $94 ???
I've been using Blazer aluminum and brass in my G30 because it's cheap and burns clean. I just read in another thread that somebody is having trouble with Wolf ammo. He said his gunsmith told him he could damage his barrel by using it. That sounds a bit over the top to me but I'm not sure. I picked up a couple of boxes at a gun show a few weeks ago. The guy who sold it to me seemed pretty honest about it and said it was a bit dirty but still a bargain ($10/50 rnds). Should I use this stuff up or keep it in the safe for whatever?

I've only heard of problems really in the 9mm stuff. I know lots of people that use it in their 1911s, XDs, and G21s without issue. I wouldn't hessitate to use it.

ive used wolf in my g22 without issue...it is dirty but who cares...gotta clean the gun anyway.
my stepdad uses only wolf in his g21...even the older varnished wolf ammo...no issues at all...not even a jam. fairly accurate also.
Thanks- that's good enough for me.
Its called 9mm get one and be happy.

when I feel the need to shoot a pellet gun that's what I do. I've been the 9mm route before and although saying this it will no doubt pi$$ somebody off, I'm personally not impressed with it. For a BUG it's great because it offers more power than the .32 or 380. Please don't flood me with ballistic reports and anecdotal evidence. I've carried them and shot someone with one. That's another reason why I sold my 9mm's and went to the .45. Just my personal thoughts. I don't want to start anything here, just MHO is all.

The local Wal-Marts sell Blazer Brass for $10.97 per 50. I've found it to be good stuff and the empty brass reloads well. FWIW though, I can reload .45ACP much cheaper than I can buy even the bargin Wally World ammo.
I haven't reloaded in about 25 years but I think I'm going to start my research for equipment. Especially with the 10mm G20 I'm purchasing next. None of this stuff is cheap any more, although by comparison the 9mm stuff is really a bargain. In spite of what I said in the above post, a 9 wouldn't be bad for the range. I have been bitten by the Glock bug for sure. As uncomplicated and inexpensive as they are, these Glocks amaze my with their durability and reliability. I actually love the way they look too.

Agent6-3/8:
Now that you have your equipment, how much would you say you can reload your .45 for? How many reloads do you get out of the brass?
What's a rough estimate of equipment cost for decent equipment to reload pistol ammo?
We sell Lake City 45ACP for $95 for a case of 500. It can be found some places still and guys love to reload the brass. Mind you, the primers are hard but I have not personally had a problem with striker fired guns.

Check georgiaarms.com Canned Heat.
I converted my .45 Colt commander to 460 Rowland. It's a real hammer. I bought a few boxes of the 460 from Georgia Arms. I believe they're the only people making it. Shoots real nice. Starline makes the 460 brass so I'll be handloading some too.
I've been using Wolf in my 21 for range ammo and it's been fine. It also works in my CX4. But I'm going back to reloading as it's up to $140/ 500 around here for Wolf. I'd sure like to know where Flipper gets his for $94/ 500. It's dirty, but accurate enough. It'll make COM hits at 100 yds. in my Storm.

Yeah, Alot of people don't know about Georgia Arms. They are a good source for those that don't reload and they make quality stuff. The canned heat is a really good buy for this day and time. :wavey:
