Places around Pittsburgh for shotgun plinking

Hey everybody. I'm a long time lurker to the board, and figured I'd finally create an account here. I had bought a Glock 19 years ago for home defense, and started collecting some more pistols from there. I had gotten away from going to the range for awhile (working night shifts) and am trying to get back into it now. My girlfriend now is also into hunting, so, she's getting me into rifles / shotguns more.



My real question is does anyone know of a good place to go to pattern a shotgun? Seems most of the clubs are pistol / rifle only at the ranges, and then just have trap / skeet. I was hoping to find a place where I could test out some different turkey loads / chokes on targets before going on my first turkey hunt at the end of this month.

Try Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen's Club: http://www.mdi.net/dml/ - their lower pistol range can be used for patterning shotguns.

You could go to the State Game Land 203 range. It's outdoors and free. They have many different ranges, pistol to i think 200 yard rifle. Here a link: http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/pgc/cwp/view.asp?a=492&q=154395

There is usually never a range master, except on busy weekends like before deer season.
