Ray's Hardware and Sporting Goods (http://www.rayssportinggoods.com/) has a great selection and a comfortable store to spend some time. A little high in prices but a good place to kill and hour. They are just west of downtown Dallas. Closed Monday
Two Bass Pro Shops, one just north of DFW airport in Grapevine and the new one that's a little east of Dallas in Garland.
Cabela's which is 10-15 minutes north of downtown Ft. Worth.
Elk Castle (http://www.elkcastle.com/) has a pretty good selection. They are 10-15 minutes west of Ft. Worth.
That should keep you busy for a day.

Depending how far you want to venture: Bullett Trap in Plano (K ave between Park and Parker). They have a fair selection and a rental case full of guns for their indoor range WEB site ( http://www.bullettrapinc.com/) . Gunmasters in Plano, (farther north on K ave just before Springcreek).5001 Ave. K #102 Plano, TX 75074 (972)423-0121
Bachman can have attitude problems. I've heard lots of stories; had one experience by phone. The Bullet Trap sometimes has interesting stuff in the consignment case. At least two guns there I should have bought.

I've bought two Glocks from Bachmans and a friend has bought a SIG from them. They do have good prices and when I buy another Glock, I'll definitely check with them first.
I've not experienced the attitude problem.
Small shop across 121 from Bass Pro shops in Grapevine. In same little strip center as a large storage place. Has a banner that says Gun Store. Only open Tues-Thurs. 1:00 to 6:00 as the go to a lot of gun shows. They have gun show prices in store.
Sporting Arms in Lewisville. http://www.sportingarms.com/

Sporting Arms is not a store. They run it out of their house. Window shopping could be hazardous to your health.
McClelland Gun Shop on Centerville in Dallas.
B&S Guns on Broadway & I-30 in Garland.

there is a little place called bullseye off of cedar ridge and I20. They have a decent selection of guns and the range isnt bad either

I go to Bullseye about 1 to 2 times a month. They are really good folks also. John is a top notch guy......
Winchester Gallery (showroom) and The Shooting Gallery (range). East Fort Worth, Lancaster and Loop 820. Gunsmith on site as well.
Helluva good selection, tons of older/rarer used guns. Lots of rentals, and in some cases on the used guns, try-b4-u-buy.
Prices aren't the lowest, but the service/attitude has been terrific in my experience.
I used to enjoy going to military gun supply in Fort Worth off of 820 and berry. but after they had that ATF problem that place hasnt been the same.
Bachman may have good prices, but in my experience it's not worth the hassle.
1. Getting treated like crap by someone you're trying to give money to isn't my idea of what makes a good gun store.
2. Then there's the "everything has three prices" problem. Gun show price, the price they put in the Shotgun News and the storefront price. Just bringing this up...well, see #1.
I don't recommend Bachman.
Sad but true, I do not recommend any gunshop in Fort Worth.

How so? I haven't been over there in a while but it's a bit of a haul at $3 gal. I know they changed owners a while back.

Cheaper Than Dirt has a good store at 35W and 820. Nice folks, very helpful. Overall pretty good prices.

I personally WOULD NOT recommend Cheaper Than Dirt............Their prices are not any better than anyone else's and for the most part, I have found them to be HIGHER........My opinion....

I agree. Cheaper than Dirt has some of the HIGHEST prices in town. Academy (several locations) and Sportsman Warehouse (Lewisville) beats them all.

I guess it just depends on what you want.....
I can partially modify my previous comment cause Academy does have better prices on some of their stuff. If we include them as a "gun shop" then yes, check them out.

If you are refering to my comment, I was talking about CTD not academy. As far as I am concerned if they sell guns it's a gun store.
