Hi Folks,
Just getting hot and heavy with my pistol shooting again and ran across the problem of not having enough mags for my 1911 10mm. What I would like to ask the board is who is making the most dependable product in 8 rounders? Is Wilson-Combat no longer making them? (My best mag is from Wilson #47NX) Is Kimber a reliable replacement? Sorry to ask a question that many of you may have answered before, just need to get 'em ordered before I hit the road Wednesday for CA. Thanks for any advice.

Kimber mags in my experience are among the worst in regards to reliable feeding.
I use mostly Springfield and factory Colt mags just because I have a lot of them. They work great in all of my 1911's.
I know a lot of guys on here use various aftermarket mags so I'll let them comment on those.

Chip McCormick Shooting Star and Metalform mags have worked very well in mine.

I went ahead and ordered the shoting stars. I'll have a few days before I get back to my favorite range until they arrive anyway. Looking forward to having multiple magazines again. Thanks for the input and advice.

Most of my colt mags may be marked colt on the bottom, but the followers have shooting stars on them. So IMHO your better off saving 10-15 per mag and buying the Chip McCormick Shooting Star Magazine with out the colt stamp. :)

Old thread here, ...
... but for those who don't know, Wilson is making his 9-rd 10mm mags again (product # 47-OX).
I have six of them, and mine were too tight to hold the full 9-rds. Regardless, they run fine in my Delta Elite. They look virtually identical to Wilson's more well-known 47D 8-rd .45acp mag. Quality control is excellent.
Several years ago I reviewed Tripp's 9-rd Cobra mags and some 10-rd extended 10mm mags from Metalform. Here's the link for anyone looking at these:

Again, be advised that the review was written a while back, before Wilson Combat re-started production of their 10mm mags (as their 10mm CQBs started coming on line). Also, be advised that the prices mentioned in the article may have changed.
trip research has very good mags for the 1911 10MM as well as 45 ACP and are in stock.
