I have been looking for a 3906 for years. Does anyone have one? What do you like and dislike? Do you know of one for sale?

I may be wrong, but I believe I saw two NEW performance center 3906's at the S&W Shooting Center about a month ago. It's not on the web page though.

I just don't see the use in a fullsize single stack 9mm weapon. Now, I before I get flamed let me say that I think the 9mm shines in the compact concealed carry genre of pistols. It gives you a relatively powerful pistol in a nice compact package. I don't think a 9mm should be any larger than a 3913 or 6906.

I have been looking for a long time. I own a 5906, 6906, 3913tsw, and a 940. The single stack 3906 feels great to me. I have held one, but never shot one.

One day, one day, I will get one. If anyone knows of one give me a yell!

I see your point now. have you ever checked with http://www.summitgunbroker.com/index.html ? He carries a lot of used Smith police trade ins, I don't know if he advertises everything he has so it might be worth a shot if he had one or two laying around.

Haven't seen one of those in a long time. If I were you, I'd keep my eyes peeled at www.gunbroker.com, www.auctionarms.com, www.gunsamerica.com, and the classifieds section of www.smith-wessonforum.com. These surface every now and again, but were made in such limited numbers that they are a bit rare.

There may not be a use for a full size single stack 9mm, but a 639 sure is purdy.

I have a 3906. I picked it up at a gun show a few years ago. I love it. I sent it to S&W to have the hook ground off the trigger guard and also had a bobbed hammer installed. It looks, feels and carries great.

I used it last week at an indoor action shoot and came in third against all the hi cap race guns there.

They were only made for 3 years so they are a bit scarce.

I was told that Kieslers in Indiana has a few used ones in the store. This is from a friend who saw them in person in the store a few weeks ago. Don't know if Kiesler ships.

I saw one at the lgs and didn't have enough $$$ to buy it. The next day I went back with trading stock and it was gone.:sad: Maybe I'll do the internet thing and get one. A few weeks ago I found a replacement for the 39-2 I traded years ago. There may not be a practical use for them but I sure love the feel of a single stack 9mm.

CDNN Investments aren't putting what handguns they have in their flyers any more (or at least they didn't this one..not sure why) but I've seen lots of S&W autos they have for sale, just not sure on the 3906, but every time someone buys from them, they say the piece they get is better than graded....
