Whooo Hooo... My new G23 with an extended 4.25" Barsto barrel and factory Glock night sights finally arrived a couple of days ago.

I was able to get to the range the very next morning and wring it out a bit...

I put 100 rounds of 180gr FMJ reloads thru it with cleanings after every 10 rounds.

I fired unsupported for these rounds and was generally pleased with the groups. I was able to get back to the range that same evening and shot 60 more rounds from a bench support.

The bullets where hitting slightly to the right so after a couple of light taps on the rear sight I was able to get a under 2" group @ 20 yards with 10 shots.

I have to say that I am very happy with my new G23...

Now to get some proper reloads loaded up and purchase some factory ammo for CCW... Yes I will practice with the factory ammo... :)

I'm curious, how did you get a new Glock with a Barsto barrel? Was it a package deal of some sort?

In Canada a handgun with a barrel length less than 4.15" is illegal to import so the only way tp get a handgun like a G23 or G27 for example is to have the gun purchased by a FFL dealer in the States that will change the barrel to a longer one.

The gun then needs to be imported by the normal channels.

It costs a lot to purchase a gun this way because everyone involved adds their greedy little bump so in the end this gun cost me $1250.00 + 13% tax Canadian funds...

This situation happened because some anti-gun Lieberal saw a way of banning thousands of the best handgun's made.

Aha, makes perfect sense now (if you can call that "sense.")

Enjoy it!

The only issue is that you do not need to clean the gun every 10 rounds...you could shoot a couple hundred rounds (or thousand rounds) before cleaning it.

I clean mine after the range session when I get home. Sometimes, a few days after.

I only clean the gun like that when I am breaking in a new barrel...

Other than that I try to clean and lube my guns after every range session...

Can't stand a dirty gun...
