Has anyone ever checked there gun at the court house?? Reason I'm asking is I have to testify on Tuesday. My bank is on the second floor and I usually just lock it in the car (I'm only in the credit union for 10-15 min), but I feel I may be there longer and I don't care to leave it in my car 1/2 the day in center city Allentown.

Legally you can check a firearm at a court house as long as you have a permit. BUT. My buisness partner just had this issue on Fri the 20th. He is not LE and when he went to check his gun and the rent a guard had no idea of the law and demmanded to see his CCW and he refused saying only a sworn officer can ask to see the permit, Which is true. So they called down the sherrif and he verified the law. The law actually states that you can not carry in the court room. BUT It was a big hassle not worth it if you have other options.

I am not a Lawyer and this is my general disclaimed stating this note is for reference only.
