Does any one carry them in their mk40 ? Do you guys think they wii still expand and penetrate well? I dont like the recoil of the 165's.
I have some 180 HST's for my G23 I want to use in a mk40 I will be buying. :)

THAT is a good question!

I carry and shoot 180's out of my CW-40. I definitely don't think I'd like the recoil from lighter bullets.

I haven't bothered to peruse ammunition manufacturer's websites, but aren't there usually chrono. tables available?

I carry 180 Grain Federal Hydra-Shoks in both my MK 40 and P40 Covert.

I've shot both the 165 and 180 Grain Hydra-Shoks. I did not notice a difference in recoil.

YMMV

I've carried 180gr Golden Sabers [in my .40 Kahr] at one time but it was because I bought them by accident. I have shot them, and don't really feel a difference in recoil. As far as expansion, I'm not sure.

I normally carry 165gr Golden Sabers because that's what my local PD has extensively tested & now issues to its officers. That's enough of an endorsement for me.
