I emailed Dottie about my P40, and she let me know that my gun was manufactured prior to them including the Elite trigger as standard.
Two questions for those of you who have made the switch:
1. I've cleaned out the firing pin channel, and shot this gun a lot, so I have a pretty smooth trigger as it is. I am also about to send the gun in to Cylinder and Slide, and among other things they're going to do an action job. Is there anything about the Elite trigger that you think would still make it a good idea? I'm not sure just how improved a trigger it is, and if it's smooth enough that I could even skip the action job.
2. Dottie quoted me $60 to pick the gun up, do the work, and return it. I would be comfortable doing this myself if it doesn't require hand fitting -- I've polished/changed out trigger parts on my Glocks, if that's comparable. Did you do the job yourself, and would you recommend it? Hate to be without my carry gun for too long...
Thanks!
