I just acquired a 642, and am considering a CT grip. Any other lefty shooters who have this setup (j-frame w/ CT) and want to comment on it? Specifically, any issues w/ recoil and left thumb placement?
Edit: Never mind - I went to a shop that sells CT grips yesterday and held their J Frame dummy gun w/ the grip installed. FYI, if anything, these seem MORE comfortable for a left handed grip than a righty. While gripping in a right handed combat grip, the laser housing rested against the base of my trigger finger, and I had to adjust my grip to minimize that contact. Recoil could cause some unpleasant pounding of that joint after a few rounds, I would think, especially with +P loads.
However, when I gripped it in my normal left handed hold, thumbs forward, the laser rested in between the thumbs, and provided a shelf for the upper (left) thumb to rest on. These are very lefty friendly - so much so that I'm going to order a set for myself one one for my left-handed father.
