Read the great thread with instructions on detail stripping the upper part of the gun. I have a CW9. Is it necessary to do that? If so, how often?

Every thousand rounds or so, it might not be a bad idea. I've never cleaned my CW9 and it's got 1,600 through it. Thanks for the reminder: It's probably due.

Anyone got instructions for stripping the lower? I'd like to do that, too. ;)

I don't know of too many who have shot their Kahr as much as I have but to be honest I usally detail strip my upper reciever on mine about every 3,000 rounds when I change recoil spring and at same time I change the striker spring. Now when I clean my Kahr I use C&S Dunk It and let it soak bout an hour then I brush everything down then do my barrel with with Sweets 7.62 cleaner for copper fouling. Then resoak it for another hour then blow it with compressed air and put my grips back on lube and back into service. After 25,000 rounds thru mine that is what has worked. Now at 15,000 rounds I replaced all the springs thru out the entire gun. Also the loads I shot are +P+ and or +P or NATO Hard Ball. I only switched the last year to Federal HST 147. Hope that helps you out.

I have never been able to remove the stricker plate per instructions from Michigun. I am so afraid to bugger the plate it seems to be so tight. I have used the slide release to keep the spring compressed but the plate its self is so tight on both K-9 and MK-9.I dont know what to use to get it started. Any help out there?
