Has anyone used the services of an Ak gunsmith in the Dallas area? If so, can you make a recommendation?
Thanks.

I am not sure how good they are. I am going to get my AR threaded from them to put a muzzle break on.

I think there is also a place in Ducnville.

+1 .

I had Dave do my AMD-65 build.

Good work and a good guy to deal with.

Thanks. I'll look into Elite.

In the event that I may need an alterantive, does anyone else know of an Ak gunsmith?

You can call Randy, aka Sledgehammer on FALFiles. He is mostly a FAL smith of good reputation , but does also work on AKs.

COULD NOT in a million years be MORE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

dave is a TOTAL hack. he'll get his...

paid that pos $501.00 after tax to put a new gas block/REAL ak-74 muzzlebrake/do a cut-crown/weld hk sight to gas block and to top cover, duracoat the whole rifle od green, and i gave him my east german bolt carrier to upturn the charging handle.... long story short... after waiting 2 months, he used a garbage tapco muzzlebreak, hacksawed my barrel and welded the tapco brake without crowning the barrel, you can look down the muzzle and see the hacksaw marks, did a poor job welding the hk sights, and upturned a romanian bolt carrier, and tried to steal my east german bolt carrier, spray painted the finish(definitely NOT duracoat). he also sanded down the receiver enough that the serial numbers are VERY hard to read. I realized within a few moments that he hacked my rifle, and after he threatened me in his shop, i tried to take him to small claims court, but the price he charged me was $1 more than could be construed as small claims, as per the law... I could have payed a lawyer $500 to get my $500 back, but i just figure he'll mess around with the wrong individual and he'll get his...

the rifle he hacked will not group 15" at 25yds. range masters will not let me shoot it.

I AM ONE OF MANY THAT WAS SCREWED BY THIS DISHONEST GUNSMITH.

i have chatted on the net with at least a dozen more unlucky and unwitting victims of this sorry pos.

YOU WERE WARNED!!!!

the ONLY reason i used this pos, is just so i wouldn't have to do an ffl transfer back from krebs. the worst firearms mistakes i have, and hopefully, ever will make.

if you have any questions or doubts, pm me. if you are in dallas, i will prove it to you with the receipt and the rifle.

dave, if you are reading this, well....I'm sure you remember me and my words to you, i still stand behind them--ю пунк бич

I know T.R. from his work on my Glocks. He is outstanding and I know that his work on AKs will meet anyone's standards and expectations.
