i took my pm9 to the range for the first time a few days ago and i
couldn't get a decent group out of it at 7, 10, or 15 yards.
i am the second owner of the gun and the original owner said that
he had shot 400 rounds through it.
i know i wasn't limp wristing it and i know it isn't me because i was
shooting 2" groups with my 1911 that same day.
i was just wondering What kind of groups you folks were getting out
of your guns

The first time I shot my PM9 - about 12" @ 7 yds - and that's not a "group". I definitely wasn't used to the trigger on a DAO.
By the end of the second trip to the range - 2" at 7yds. But I've heard much better on GT.

I'm getting about a 3 inch group at 15 feet, but it's always about 3 inches low. Kahr sent me a new barrel (thanks Kahr) to correct the problem (it was shooting 4 inches low with the original barrel).
I have another email in to Kahr to see if the "new" barrel may also be a problem and/or if I need to send the PM9 in for service.
Good news, tight group a few inches low will do the trick for this gun's intended purpose and, I've had not a single failure of any kind with FMJ and Hydra Shoks.

I'm averaging right at 5"-6" groups at 7 yards with Remington 115 gr FMJ. When I fist got my PM9 I was much worse.... it took a little to adjust to the PM9 trigger, after all, I was used to my Glock triggers. But as soon as I did adjust, I fell in love with the PM9 trigger, and my groupings got better with each trip to the range.
At 7 yards, if I use two hands and go slow I can get a 2"-5" group, but I generally shoot fairly fast one-handed and end up with like 6"-9" groups (keeping everything inside the "head" on the target).
This plate tells the story of how my PM9 did the very first time I shot her. 7 rounds, 7 yards. (1 1/8" group)

I'm with Jamin on mine. In fact, I could easily keep the whole load full on that plate at the 25yd. line. Er....uh...just NOT in rapid-fire, LOL.
At 7 yards, unlimited time, CCI Blazer, 4 rnds on 1" diameter paster. The 5th round was my mistake and a miss.
One inch groups at 7 yards are possible assuming your finger doesn't get tired.
I just think my hands are too damn shaky to do a 1" at 7yards, though often I do have 3 out of the 6 shots touching one another.
So can anyone shoot a 3" group at 25 yards without bracing the gun on a rest or anything? I always shoot a few mags that far out at the end of range sessions, and I never get better than a 12" group with the PM9. Of course, I only got a sub-4" group with the P9 once (go pow-r-ball!), and it's worst with my G23 (12" to 20").
But it does seems like all the defensive handgun people (and logic) supports the idea of doing most practicing inside of 7 yards. I actually do MOST at distances of arm's length to 5 or 6 feet.
