now i'm thinking of ordering a G33 in .357 sig. when my father had his G27 he put a .357 sig. barrel in it, when we shot it with the Rem. 125gr. HP they jammed in the gun. we noticed that the bullets actually pushed in and changed the length of the round. we took the remaining rounds and we could actually push them in on the table.
NOW i know that i've asked this before and got some flak from .357 sig. fans but, can anyone that carries and shoots the .357 sig round alot reconmend a particular bullet that is dependable for carrying?
i really appreciate tha advise i get from y'all. when knowledgable people share info, we all benefit.
thanks!:wavey:
I have shot a considerable amount of Speer Gold Dot and PMC Starfire. Both have had perfect functioning records.

Try Corbon DPX in the G33. Its nice, low recoil, almost low/no flash blast and feeds well. For practice federal american eagle is clean.

I've carried both PMC Starfire and Speer Gold Dots. Never had a problem feeding even after a couple months in the mag. I would also look into the 147gr that MCNETT makes.

I've yet to experience any set-back with Gold dots.

I have my G31 loaded with 125gr Speer GD jhp.All the reports I seen on line from different agencies, and ballistic testing show the Speer GD to perform really well in 357 sig as they do in every other service caliber.

I had one do it, but I tend to unload and dryfire often. Yes, I do rotate the rounds, but I need to shoot up my carry stuff and get some new Golddots. I prefer the 125gr. Golddots.

I had a G31, G32 and G33. I fired over 34,000 rounds out of the G31.
The best ammunition I have used in the G31 are as follows:
WWB 125 Gr. FMJ (Range)
WWB 125 Gr. JHP (SD, Most accurate and sure functioning round that I used)
Winchester Ranger 125 Gr. JHP (SD, Second Most accurate and sure functioning round.)
Speer GDHP 125 Gr. JHP (SD)
Hornady 125 Gr. XTP/JHP (SD)
Hornady 115 Gr. XTP/JHP (SD, Great accuracy and sure functioning)
Federal Premium 125 Gr. JHP (SD, Overall great performer, extremely expensive)
Cor-Bon 115 Gr. JHP (SD)
The G33 had about 5,000 rounds through it.
The only thing that touched the barrel was WWB FMJ/JHP. Never missed a beat.
Why Double Tap's 357sig ammo of course, it's da bomb

That sound like a batch of defective ammo, not anything particularly unique to the 357 Sig as a cartridge line.

My 33 feeds reliably with everything I have put through it, but Gold Dots were the most accurate @ 7-10 yards, Magsafe was the most enjoyable tho, watermelons explode!

Cut and paster from a Massad Ayoob report on carry ammo with the link to whole report on bottom.
Most other departments have gone to more powerful rounds. The .40 S&W caliber is the overwhelming top choice of police departments today, followed by the .357 SIG and the .45. Created to duplicate the best ballistics of the .357 Magnum revolver in a semiautomatic pistol, the .357 SIG spits a 125-grain jacketed hollow point at 1300 to 1400 feet per second, delivering 500-plus foot-pounds of energy. Departments which have adopted it are delighted with the performance, reporting a high frequency of one-shot stops. The Virginia State Police, who issue the .357 SIG Model P229 pistol, told me that they were particularly pleased with the number of felons who dropped and stopped fighting after receiving non-fatal wounds in non-vital parts of the body.

Has anyone else tried a 357 barrel in their Glock 27?
I was thinking about buying one, but am concerned to see he had stoppages doing that.

i attribute the problems my father had with his G27 and a .357 sig barrel completly to the Rem. ammo we tried. you could actually push the heads in, that is the only trouble i saw with round. i'm determined to get a G33 (or find a cheap G27 and get a .357 barrel), i was just wondering what you other guys carried. i learned alot, thanks.
