I received a Kahr MK9 (not Elite) on a Tuesday. On Wednesday morning I took it to the range, ran 210 rounds though it to make sure it was good. Thursday the gun went off CCR Refinishing (http://www.ccr-refinishing.com/).

About 3 weeks later it is back with a a ceramic black finish. I kept the controls in the natural stainless color for a bit of a two-tone effect.

Howdy,

Looks great! How much did that set you back?

Did they do the inside of the slide on the rails?

Kevin "Nice."

Thats what I want, it looks great! Have you fired it yet? Is the fit and function good? Were there any problems if you did fire it? Great looking gun.

Didn't have much time at the range tonight, but I did put 75 rounds down range. 60 or so Miwall factory reloads (1 failure to fire -- ammo has hard primers) and an assortment of Speer GDHP and Winchester Ranger 147g and 124g +P.

I've switched to using TW25B grease (used to use Gun Juice) on the MK9. Noticeably "smoother" on the recoil action.

I'd conclude this MK9 is just as good before and after the refinish job.

For carry purposes, rubber wrap around grips are not optimal.

Why is that? :headscratch:

...because the lining of your jacket, coat or whatever outer garment you wear hangs up on the rubber sleeve. Optimally you would want something a lot smoother. On the other hand you woud probably want at least a part of the grip to have checkering so that the pistol doesn't slide in and out of you hand.
Tough decision.
