try turner's outdoorsman. they have training courses for ccw. usually the training course lasts for 2 days from 9am to 5 pm, they have ccw training once a month. you pay something like 179.99 dollars including book, handouts. Instructors come from the orange county police and i hear they're very good. requirements are the primary handgun that you're gonna be carrying most of the time, 200 rounds of ammo, 2 magazines or a speed loader, holster of course and thats about it. i will join this training course inorder to get a ccw permit.
there's no guarantee however that completing the training will grant you the permit. i think they have an exam both written and practical there. im not sure.
there's a schedule on may 19-20 and june 9-10 i think. just call up turners outdoorsman
I got 2 words for turners.

(note: I made no such attempt, I spelled it as I said it. The filter caught it and made a correction. Basically, I said something turners. Something is up to your imagination as to what I said.)
I hate turners, I will not spend another dime there. If the building was on fire, I wouldn't bother to stop and pee on the fire.

Be advised if you take the class it means nothing when you apply for a CCW permit. It's just training on applicable laws regarding CCW in CA.
http://www.ocsd.org/CCWPermit/Requirements.asp
Training: The applicant must complete and show current proof of attendance and a successful completion certificate from an Orange County Sheriff’s Department approved Concealed Carry Course containing modules on safety, the law, and the applicant’s ability to handle a firearm safely. The course will be 16 hours. The training should not be taken until preliminary approval for the CCW permit is granted and the applicant’s fingerprints are taken.
Taking the approved CCW course is step #5 in getting a CCW permit in Orange County.
http://www.ocsd.org/CCWPermit/AppProcess.asp
5. The clearance from the Department of Justice can take from one to three months. Additionally, CCW applicants must undergo 16 hours of firearms training prior to receiving their CCW permit (Penal Code 12050E). This training must be performed by a Sheriff’s Department approved instructor at the applicant’s expense. The firearm(s) the applicant intends to carry (limit of three) must also be inspected and approved by Sheriff’s Department range staff before a CCW permit is issued. Upon preliminary approval, the applicant will be mailed a list of approved firearms instructors and information on firearms inspection.
Note: Applicants are asked not to complete their firearms training or weapons inspection until after they are notified of their receiving clearance from the Department of Justice.
Call the OCSD CCW office if you have any questions that can't be answered on the OCSD CCW website.

Should the disable not be allowed to protect themselves?

not tryna argue...but where else would you go that has as much selection and some discounted items...On HAND?
i mean if you do, id be more than glad to give em a try ... we all know their cust service isnt the greatest ... but in my short exp. in guns, theres seems to be no place like that of existence (im talking good service happy people)
;)
Are you talking firearms or just hunting goods in general?
Too bad theres not a cabelas here in so cal, because if there were, turners would be out of business.
If you are speaking of firearms, check out ironsights in oceanside for a wide assortment of pistols.

ironsights - http://www.iron-sights.com/
I was just there doing a PPT FTF transfer and they only charged me $35. No extra "hidden" fees included.
While I was there, they had a consign G19C w/3 mags for $450 + transfer fee. Not too bad.
However, I was eye'n the Steyr M1A 9mm they had for $489 That my friend is a GREAT price on that weapon. I think the G34 new was $589. Best to call and compare.
Iron Sights =

I agree wholehartedly! Iron Sights is awesome! I've purchased all my firearms from them. I'm there at least once a week, usually twice. Kind of a drive from Corona (15 South to 76 West), but well worth it, in my opinion. Very nice, clean facility, with super-friendly staff.
