View Full Version : 9mm SBR build
Well, Biggl32 (or whatever his name is) was right. Class III is more addictive than regular BRD...
3 tax stamps later I am waiting on a stamp for:
Spikes Tactical Lower, Magpul CTR, with Spike's 6" Sidecharging 9mm upper... Pics to come! I will be suppressed here soon I hope :)
Anyone know a good source for 9mm mags?
I warned you!! :tongueout:
For the mags just be patient, CProducts has finally worked the bugs out of the 9mm mags design, and should be available soon.
Also, watch your thumb when using the bolt realease on those side charger uppers, as the charging handle has been known to take the skin off your thumb.
Oh, congrats on your new weapon.
What suppressor are you thinking about buyin?
Probably get an AAC Evolution in .40, and use it on my 9's and 40's.
Oh, and the YHM can on a 10.5" Noveske...

Hell, you could have went with the AAC M4-1000, it runs about the same price as the YHM can. You coulda had an all AAC line-up!
Again, congrats.
Now you need a good .22 can. ;)
Okay. I am suppressor ignorant. So I take it you can run a slightly larger can and it will still be effective? (.40 can with a 9, etc.)
If it is okay as it sounds to be, then what can would you choose for both .223 and .22lr? I would like one to put on my AR, AK (5.56), MkII (if possible), and 10/22. I am a cheap bastard so I would like one to fit them all. I would rather have one really good one, than 4 crappy ones.
the problem between .22lr and 5.56mm is that the large expansion chamber for the centerfire rounds actually makes it pretty loud for a .22...
A dedicated .22lr can is the way to go (which is a way i'll be going soon)
But yes, you can run a 7.62 can on 5.56, with good suppression, not the best, but effective.

I figure I can (and might) upgrade to a Hahn dedicated block if I need to.

Sounds liek a sweet gun, post it when your done, I have been using promags (happy so far) and am waiting on a bunch of Uzi mags i bought and am going to modify. Most guys on AR15 seem to like the colts(mucho money)or Uzi'z .
epsylum, you would be better off with dedicated cans for the 5.56 and .22lr.
I'll have a new toy here soon (awaiting ATF approval), on a Tactical Innovations Stratus, it is a .22lr can that can be taken apart for cleaning. I only paid $250 + tax for it.
When I finish with the host weapon (Ruger 22/45 with a PAC-LITE upper), I will bring it to Eagle Creek and let your run some rounds thru it. I will bring my M4-2000 as well  .

Sweet. I and others at the range would greatly appreciate it.
I keep kicking around the idea of suppressing at least my .22lrs with a single can. I will need to get my 10/22 Race Rifle's barrel turned down and threaded and will probably need a new upper for my MkII (I have a slab-side target model), but supressed .22s are soooooo dang quiet.
I was just trying to kill two birds with one stone with the .223/.22lr idea. ;)
