I bought 10 pmags when they first came out in March. They ran flawlessly in my AR's, but then I found out that they were updating them. Concerned about an unforseen problem, I called them. They said they would replace them if I wanted. They took my information, and today I received 10 new pmags, as well as a 3 pack of magpuls, and a paid shipping label to return the old mags with. Kind of hard to find fault with a company that has a top shelf product to begin with and the customer service to match. If you haven't purchased any pmags yet, you really owe it to yourself (and your AR) to pick some up. They are incredibly well made/performing mags.
I'm curious to see how well they are going to hold up to extened periods of time being loaded, left in the heat, and how well they hold up to being dropped. While I'm sure that they can be run over with a truck and survive, in 25 years of shooting, I've never ran a magazine over. I'm still skeptical about mixing plastic with pressure, heat, and impact over any extended period of time.

There's a guy on ARFCOM that did an extensive torture test of a Pmag. I'll see if I can find the link. He dropped it off of the roof of his house and dropped it while going 87mph on his motorcycle and a bunch of other stuff. Mag still lock in his AR and functioned flawlessly.

I saw that also, but like above, never have dropped one off of a building or a motorcycle going 87 MPH. I have left mags loaded for extended periods of time, have had them in a hot environment, like a car, and have had them rattling around in a kit bag, in fact, still do. The fact that they recommend the feed lip protectors be kept on the mags when not in use makes me thing the feed lips are the weak spot on these magazines. I hope I'm wrong, but I know my mil-spec mags work.
Please don;t get me wrong, I like Magpul and their products, I'm just not sold on their long term usage on this particular product. I was one of the guys that wasn't sold on the C Products mags, and time proved me correct on that. Hopefully my skepticism on these mags is incorrect.

The Magpul crew is a great team of people. Their upcoming projects are outstanding, and are helping to change the weapon community.
I agree that running it over may not seem realistic, but when you start looking at the amount of abuse it will take versus what other magazines are capable of, its a good start to a new product.

Magpul sent me my 4/07 PMAGs to replace my 3/07 PMAGs today. I took them to the range today and they worked great. They just feel very well made to me. I can't see me buying anything other than PMAGs in the future.

The PMAGS really don't feel like plastic. They are solid and rigid. They aren't lightweight. The design is innovative. I especially like the base plates. You just have to try one to understand.
The feedlips are thick and solid. The clip takes the pressure off of the feedlips, but I doubt the feedlips will be a problem during a normal useful life of a magazine.
I doubt I will ever buy an aluminum or stainless steel magazine again. Actually, I may sell some of the ones I have and replace them with PMAGS.

I agree with your skeptical view (to an extent). Like you, I know I can leave my USGI mags loaded. I know they work...
I went ahead and grabbed a couple of PMAG's anyways, mostly for testing purposes. I highly doubt that I will stop buying/using USGI mags because of these, even if they are as reliable and long lasting... but they may be a good alternative and/or compliment USGI mags.
Only time will tell, but Magpul does make good products, in general, so I see no reason why these won't be decent mags...
My co-worker sort of did a group buy with us (no discount other than we all split the shipping) and I have 4 more on the way. I plan to buy many, many more. I have two from March and plan to keep them as they have worked fine so far.

I feel the same way. I hope the p-mags turn out to to be all they are suppose to be but until more testing ( by others ) it is hard to pick them over $11.74 EA. shipping included USGI OKAY mags.
