View Full Version : Del-Ton update...
Now I'm a bit steamed to say the least.
For the past week I've sent several emails to Del-Ton requesting they remove the rear sight from my order. I received no reply whatsoever. Well I just now checked my bank account and I have been charged for the full amount of the order (rear sight included)!
This means that while my order has most likely shipped, finally, I now have to worry about going back and forth with shipping and reimbursement due to their poor communication.
I'll be sure to report any updates.

I would of gone the POF/Billet route.

That's not really the point though. It's the fact that this company has continually dropped the ball... most often it really wasn't their fault, but this is a pretty big woops!

I know several people who have had problems with their customer service and will not purchase from them again.

Just curious, but why did you not call them? My experience with online companies is that email is not always the best way to contact especially on anything that is time sensitive.

Honestly, it was because up until a week or so ago, they were VERY prompt with their replies. The majority of the time the SAME day or two days max.
Plus, there was no notification of the order being shipped, their web-page doesn't even show it...there it's still backordered. But my bank account has been charged the amount this afternoon.
I called up and left a message. I expect I'll get a phone call tomorrow. Like I said, I'll keep yall in the loop either way (good or bad).

emt1581,
I know its very frustrating waiting for parts, i bought Ace stock from them and waited and waited, and they charged my account right away, so i assumed that they had it in stock, it had said it did on their website, after awhile i called, and they said they were out of stock, i cancelled my order and they promply credited my account...
I kept hearing good thing about them, so i gave them another chance, this time i called first, they said it was in stock, i ordered it over the phone, 10 minutes later they called me and said that they didn't have it in stock, i canceled again...
I will only deal with Grant from G&R, Rainierarms, Jtac, Brownells, and a short list of others, at least they keep up with their website, if it says its in stock it is.... I would call Del-ton, if you didn't already, and have a heart to heart, they were very nice to me and were very sorry for the delay and misunderstanding, but the fact that i lost 2 weeks doing a build waiting, with no communication, ticked me off, and i found happiness elsewhere.......
Don't sweat the small stuff.
If all the parts are there, and correct, you have an AR.
Put it together.
Shoot it. Post about how good or bad it is.
Since you bought it with a bank card (NEVER USE A BANK CARD ONLINE), you don't have the power of a credit card, but they have been resonable in the past and I expect them to be resonable now.

My experiences with Del Ton have been nothing but positive.
I've ordered 2 kits from them, a 16" M4 and a 20" A3, and both were delivered promptly and correctly.
After 6 mos of shooting the M4, I realized the A3 upper was undersized, and optics slid around a bit on it. I called them, and they replaced it in under a week. I called to check on it after a few days, and as I was giving the operator my order number, the FedEx van drove up with my new upper.
They are awesome on the phone and very VERY helpful. If they dropped the ball on your order, I am certain it was a miscommunication, and not due to lack of professionalism or caring.
I will order from them again in the future, no hesitation.
Well I said I would update either way and I'm happy to report that the problem has been fixed...
I called them up for a second time and when I said there was a problem the woman said "Ok, what'd we screw up?" (in a...oh no we did it again!...type of voice). She was very nice, told me my order would ship tomorrow and will be here around Tuesday. Also said she would credit my order immediately.
No huge appology, but that's ok, I'm satisfied. :)

I'm guessing that they got a huge lot of backordered items in, and have been busier than hell getting things checked in, sorted, packaged, and shipped out. That tends to take away from one's time checking emails and such.

As several of you know, I had a very good experience with them too. I do plan on ordering from the in the future, no hesitation as well.
I have an M4 kit from them, and I'm shooting with a carry handle. Did your carry handle slide around, or did you have something bigger like an Aimpoint? So far, it stays nice and tight. I've only shot about 250 rounds through it, and I've had it since February. Regardless, I guess they'd take care of it if mine did the same thing.
I agree - they are great on the phone. I don't think they are company that just doesn't care. That's not the impression that I got from them, at all.

I was using an Aimpoint in an ARMS throwlever mount. I had a few other optics that slid back and forth as well.
