I stopped by there, and the owner's truck was there, but no other vehicle. I tried the door, it was locked. Sign said for circumstances beyond their control...yada yada, they were closed.

Then, a Sheriff's car pulled up about 3:53 pm.

Anyone have any idea?

Plus, I saw about 20+ squad cars on my way home today, to the usual 3 or so. And all driving slowly on 465, and one stopped under at least one bridge/overpass. What's going on with that? Related?

They are on to you, better lay low for awhile.

Whoa... I'd be interested in finding out, too!

Their website doesn't say anything...yet.

I went by there last week, on Thursday (5/10) around 7:00. they were closed at that time also. There was a temporary "closed" sign in the door then.

Seems like a bad omen...

Nothing on the news.

Man, I hope everything's OK. I haven't been in there since they insisted that a Springfield Armory GI was the Springfield Armory Mil-Spec I had asked about pricing for.

So, if for some reason they don't reopen, does anyone know of any good places to shoot on the East side of Indy?

Or just north of there. Another shot wouldn't be noticed.

I am not sure why all of a sudden, but I was in the store a bit over a year ago and heared from Mike's mouth (as he was talking to another customer) that he was probably going to close the gun store. He did say however that he would keep the range going as it was the money maker.

Yet I would think the range would have the highest insurance rates.

I was at The range last night (5/16). Business as usual. Shooting the bull with the guys behind the counter, I got the impression they're just short staffed.

They have a Help Wanted notice on their Web site. I love the benefits package. "Only benefit is being able to pet guns all day and the smell of gunpowder in the morning."

Yeah, I saw that Help Wanted, too. $8/hr is a little on the low side, IMO.

I wonder what kind of environmental hazard the lead (Pb) would be to work around?

If it was $8/hr plus COMMISSION....or, get to take home one of the rental guns at night...like the class III. :)

I told Mike I would work there for free and he said no because im only 19. I didnt really push it but maybe its because of insurance?

Mike's selling the store to another employee. He's keeping his FFL and just doing internet sales. The new owner is in the process of getting his own FFL. The store should change hands in about 90 days. A new fresh perspective will be good for the store. The new owner is pretty excited and I think it will be a good thing.
