If so what one?

The only one that I can find at newegg is the logitec trackman.

I use the Logitech Trackman. Have had it for quite some time and really like it. That being said, I am easy to please.

I tried a kinsington trackball for a while. It seemed like it wanted to hangup for some reason in the web browser. I use an optical mouse now.

Thats the one I use. I bought it a long time ago for $40 and now I just can't use any other mouse. I am going to break down and buy another one off ebay soon before this one breaks(god forbid).

+1 I find it much easier on the wrist, and hand. Not to mention, I don't have to clean off my clutterd desk to do a little mousing...

I bought one years ago, but didn't have the patience to learn to
use it to my liking.

It's all about muscle memory. Some love them and others hate them.

I guess that i'm just kind of impatient and have never had one
around long enough to feel comfortable using one.

More power to those who like them. I'm certainly not knocking them.

When I did home based PC tech/repair a few years back, trackballs were enormously popular with the q-tips .

I've been forced to use them for small periods of time, and I suppose once you get used to them they are very functional, but you'll never have the control you have with a mouse. Don't even think about gaming with one! -dok

Sounds like I might be sticking with a mouse until I can find someone to let me borrow their trackball for a while.
thanks

While this may be true for you it would be just the opposite for me. I do plenty of gaming, infact, everyone who lives with me games with my trackball. We all swear by it, the only down side is that we can only play with THIS mouse. Any time I use a different style trackball, or a regular mouse I SUCK BAD, But I have been using this mouse for 5 years.

Yeah, concerning accuracy, my understanding is they're quite popular with the graphics folks who need to navigate pixel by pixel.
