Just bought 5 new Magpul PMags yesterday. Plan to do some shooting this weekend, Ill let everyone know how they work for me. They look and feel pretty solid and seem to have good followers in them. Anyone else get any yet?
I bought 3 but haven't even gotten around to loading them yet.

From work. yeah, they are the new ones, but without window. just let me know when you are working and Ill bring you one or two.
I tested (4) 4/07 PMAGs today with several bullet types and loading styles. No problems whatsoever.
I've very pleased with my 4/07 PMAGs and Magpul customer service.
If the feedlips hold up, I doubt I'll by another aluminum or steel magazine. I like everything about the PMAGs design.
I made the mistake of preordering some so I'm still waiting. UPS says they will be here on 5/22. I'm ready to break em in.

I bought 4 of the 04/07 mags last week. I took all 4 to the range and ran 100rds of XM193 through each. Even accidentally dropping a fully loaded one onto the concrete bottom first didn't matter. Give
em a few years and these mags will be widely known as THE BEST MAGS EVER!
I got mine, only to find out they've made a new version since mine shipped. It seems ok, but I haven't shot it yet

They are exchanging them for free if you contact them.
I suspect mine are the latest version, but how would I tell for sure?

That's what I've read. I love all my other Magpul stuff. I was just suprised a new version came out so quickly.

The little circle with 07 in the center and an arrow pointing to 4? Guess I do have the "new ones".

I got me 4 the other day - so far they are great.
I fired 300 rounds without a single failure.
I was replacing some Brownells magazines that would occasionally tip a round and cause it to nosedive under the feedramp.
Plan on going back to get more, my local dealer has 300 of the new style in stock at $15 each.
They look good to:

RM Tactical,
I know you keep up on all the mag options for ARs. What is your opinion on these Magpul P Mags? Also, what is your favorite kind of mag?
I was zeroing some new sights and optics last weekend and ran 30 rounds through one of my pmags and 30 through one of my new D&H (Bravo Company marked floorplate) mags. Not much of a test...but both worked fine.
With the cost of ammo these days, running ammo through mags for the sake of function testing is not high up on my list of things to do. These are going to get tested over a long and gradual process while doing other things (like zeroing or target shooting).

You've got that right! I function test mags without ammo as much as I can first and then gradually use (test) them at the range while I'm doing normal range shooting. No chance I'll burn up ammo just to test mags.

This was my response to another fella in another thread:

We'll see. I haven't used them much yet. I don't see myself abondoning USGI mags anytime soon... I don't like that the floor plates widen the mag on the bottom (like when you are storing/holding mags in a mag pouch side by side it's annoying).
I'm sure I can throw it out my window or drop it from the top of my house... but I don't know if they will hold ammo for months/years without breaking... I know my USGI mags don't have issues with that...
So, jury is still out.
I'm just waiting to see how they do with long term storage and use. Short term speaking, they look good.
My favorite mags are still good old USGI aluminum mags (specifically D&H or LaBelle because of the nice teflon finish). You can get them for cheap, they work well, store ammo for long periods (years and years fully loaded), etc...
I see the PMags as a good alternative, but not as a replacement to USGI mags...

I bought three for testing and they worked great - I think I'm gonna switch over entirely to PMags eventually.
I just received one from magpul yesterday marked 5/07. The FDE is on backorder. I'll be trying it out soon. I have some AR's to zero.
Sorry to ruin the party for the other dealers, but I was just looking for something else at Brownells, and they have PMags now on their front page...and boy are they cheap (if you have a business account).

$14.95? isn't that the same or MORE then most places are selling them for.

True, but as the guy below you said they are far cheaper for those of us that get special pricing.
They are damn lenient to whom they give special pricing to.
Law enforcement and FFL holders (including C&R) apply, as well as business owners. They gave me a business discount before either of the above applied to me and my business is NOTHING gun related.

Those of you that have gotten PMAGs from Brownells please let us know if they are new style or old style.
Old style is 3/07 date code.
New style is 4/07 or later date code.
TIA
