The pivot pin (actually a bolt w/screw) on ARs appears to require a flat blade screwdriver for removal.
Is there available a replacement part that would allow one to separate the upper and lower with no tools?
Like a wing nut to screw into the pin?

:headscratch:
The only bolt I readily recall in the AR is the grip screw.
To remove the Upper from the Lower just push on the front or rear pins and they'll slide almost all the way out. They are held in the Lower by a retaining pin. You want to push on the side opposite the ejection port. You can use a punch or the tip of a .223 to get them moving.
I think KNS makes some replacement pins that are push button release.

I would like to replace the screw with a wing nut or knob does not require a tool to remove.

Then the KNS push button pivot pins/take down pins might work out well for you.
A wingnut or knob is much more likely to be overtightened and mar the receiver or get snagged on something.
