Ok guys I was wondering if the set you get when you first buy your gun from GLOCK has enough security or would you guys suggest going one step further and buying something additional to secure your firearm?

I mean does the cable and the locking box that your pistol comes in do the job? I just read through the some of the laws in Cali and you need to insure that all firearms are locked or disabled and it does seem like what you receive from Glock is good enough.

Your thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated.

Start looking into gun safes. It will be an invaluable part of your collection process. Not only for state rules and regulations, it also serves to secure your collection from thieves and children. They are also handy for stashing other valuables.

CA has a safe storage law.

You need to store firearm unloaded with a CA DOJ approved gunlock/cable lock or in a CA DOJ approved safe.

Go here to find what are CA DOJ approved safety devices.

You can also go to any police station and they will give you a CA DOJ approved lock for free. I ended up getting a wall safe. If you do get a safe make sure you bolt it to the Flore. Even if you have to drill into the concrete to secure it. We just had our neighborhood watch and the officer that was there said we would be amazed at how many of the smaller safes that people buy they find. He said they find them all the time with the door broken off.
