View Full Version : Del-ton kit question
Hey guys,
I just received my Stag stripped lower ($110) and found the del-ton complete kits for ($465).
$575 for a complete AR seems like a great price!
Do they manufacture their own parts?
What kind of quality can I expect, better than Model-1 sales, I hope!
Will the upper be a decent match with my Stag lower?
Or, should I just go with a RRA or STAG upper?
Thanks!

To be honest, I don't know who makes Del-Ton's kits, if they don't make it themselves. But I can assure you the quality is excellent. Never dealt with M1 Sales either, so I can't compare to them. Basically, I don't know much, but I do know that I LOVE my Del-Ton/DPMS M4gery. It's an excellent, high-quality, dependable rifle.
Thanks, Algaroth.
I noticed they state that their uppers are "T marked". What does that mean?

That means the flattop rail (also known as a 'picatinny' rail) is marked, for quick reference for mounting optics and whatnot. T2, T4, T6, etc. They're marked in white on the rail.
Here's an image, straight from Del-Ton.

Those white marks are t-marks. It's simply a mounting reference.
AFAIK, the Uppers are CMT, the barrels are Wilson or DPMS, and the lower parts kits are DPMS; at least that's what they told me when I ordered my kit....
I built my AR on a Stag lower and Del-Ton rifle kit, and it's worked flawlessly!
CMT is the company that forges parts for RRA and STAG, correct?
Forgive my wariness, I have no experience with Del-ton. I'm sure they are everything they advertise to be, I just have never seen one for myself.

Yes, CMT also makes Stag's and Rock River's receivers.
I didn't know that CMT made Del-Ton's receivers. That's even better!
And yes, their barrels are Wilson, unless specified it to be a DPMS.
For the record, LAR makes DPMS, if you were wondering.
And +1 to the Del-Ton kit. Excellent rifle. I wouldn't trade mine for anything. :hearts:
EDIT: CMT also makes Colt's receivers. So if you got any pretty pony boys telling you that their Colt is better than your Del-Ton, tell them to eat your shorts.
I've said it plenty of times, I built a brand new A2 Chrome lined 20" for $666 delivered. You'd be hard pressed to match that price and quality in a factory built rifle ANYWHERE...
