Cali Glockers w/out of state CCL

How many of you have gotten out of state permits? I was wondering because I would be interested in the difficulty of doing so. Also to add to the question what states permits do you already have.

I've got (had) GA and VA but i got them both before i moved to Cali. Both unexpired but not valid since i no longer live in either state. not sure that's what you were looking for.

I have a Utah non-resident permit. Gives me coverage in Utah (obviously), Arizona and Texas, which is where I need it. Have had it for about 7 years now.

I have a NV non-resident permit.

I got it back when I was going to southern NV 5-6 times a year, which was four years ago.

Thanks for the replies, that is what I am looking for. This is because I like to travel, but am always extremely cautious when we do because it seems that we always have a lot of cash on hand and I am driving through places that I don't know about. Or we are camping and I want to be prepared for wildlife if needed. I guess it kind of sounds silly but that is what led to the question. I don't have a California CCL but I want to also look into that as well, but for other reasons, besides those already listed.

Also is it hard to get the Utah/ other state licenses?

I believe UT & FL non-resident permits are the easiest to get.

If you look around, you can find UT/FL non-resident CCW permit classes given in CA.

NV non-resident CCW permits requires you to be in NV to take the CCW class and turn in the paperwork in person.

The place I went to do my NV CCW class offered to do the UT & FL CCW class as well.

I do a lot of traveling to Washington so I got a Washington CCW. No class or test required. Just an application and fingerprint card, but it must be done in Washington. It's good for five years and only costs $32 to renew IIRC.

I also go to Utah a lot, but Utah will honor any state's CCW so I just carry the Washington and California CCW's. Yes, there are a few places where it is fairly easy to get a CCW in Cali. I love Kern County!:banana:

Actually, NH was the easiest, cheapest, and fastest for me. It took 7 days from when I sent it off to when I received the permit. It costs 20 bucks for 4 years. All you have to do is fill out a simple pdf form and send it in.
I have NV, FL, UT, and NH, but since the LEOSA law passed in 2004 I don't really need these permits.

OK, I know its late and my eyes are tired but am I reading this right?? People actually have Calif CCW? I lived in Calif for 35 years and never heard of anyone obtaining?

I have my UT & FL permits. I'll be going for the NV & OR next. I have the CA paperwork filled out but doubt I will get it, LA City & County. Crazy. Police have no obligation to defend your safety and won't let you defend it either, Warren v. District of Columbia. Go figure. In Orange county you can get a CCW permit so I hope in the next election Sheriff Baca will get voted out of office and a more reasonable sheriff wil get elected.

If you took every police officer in LA County and added in the sheriff's department you'd have around 25,000 cops...Now there are over 75,000 gang members in the same area. I wonder why they won't let law abiding, gun registering, permit paying and class taking responsible people carry?:upeyes:

Hey G5 yeah Calif is too far gone to be saved....I lived in Monterey /Carmel area for almost 30 years, born and raised..Due to lack of Freedoms I moved to Idaho,Now I am in Arizona...Its no coincidence that I am living in and will remain to live in Gun friendly states.. By the way I now remember who has the one and only permit in all of Monterey County..even though it clearly states that the Sheriff may issue to any law abiding citizen...That would be Clint Eastwood who is allowed the only one issued.Go figure.

I have been giving classes for Non Resident UT permits for some time now. It is a good one to have, but remember you must train also.
