View Full Version : OBDII Code Reader
I need to get one. Are there any brands highly recommended or ones to avoid? It will be for occasional home use.
There are a gazillion of them out there.
You can get a cheap one from autozone.
If you have a palm or OS operating system, you can get a really nice set up that will give you live data, freeze frame, oxy testing, readiness status. I know that Baum carries it under the OBDII setup. I think it costs around $400.00, a little pricey for occasional use, but well worth it. I have found that many of the cheaper brads will not read all vehicles, and they don't give you the hard code, no soft codes or "freeze frame" memory.
Here is a place to start reading.
I use an AutoXray EZLink. A now discontinued model but it works great.
I want to find a cheap laptop and try Auto Tap.
