I was on another site (AR-15.com) looking into Lasers sights and there was a big discussion about IR Lasers. Is there a diff between laser and InfraRed Lasers? Even on the LaserMax site, it said "Now available in IR".
A) Whats the big deal?
B) It looked like some poor bloke at ar-15.com was in trouble or installing (modding) IR's on people's ARs.
Thanks for the clarification.

Infrared lasers (IR) are only visible through night vision.
The PAQ-4 laser aimer installed on most military M4s (big TV-remote sized thing usually on the top or side rail) beams an IR laser so you can keep the NVGs mounted to your head, and shoot without having to aim from the shoulder if needed, where the NVGs would get in the way.
Various other versions have IR as well as visible lasers, and other options. But IR is only needed/usable with night vision.
