Penzeys spices are addicting. They seem to expensive, but once you start using them there is not going back, and actually a lot of stuff is actually cheaper than at the grocery store - and only about a hundred thousand times better!

I live very close to one. I like their english prime rib seasoning, but my new favorite for multiple uses is their smoked hungarian papkrika.

ive bought the italian sausage and breakfast sausage mix from them and its very good. i think i can make the italian myself - the main ingredient is the fennel seed. i just ran a search and found this recipe from food network/alton brown

1 1/2 teaspoons fennel seed
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped parsley leaves
2 pounds pork butt (2 1/2 pounds with bone), diced into 1/4-inch pieces

To make that better, use a little anise, oregano, red pepper flakes and garlic powder.
