View Full Version : Which Night Sights?
I just traded for a NIB Glock 21SF. I want to put night sights on it but I'm undecided as to which ones. Should I go with the Meps or Trijicons? Is one brand better than the other? Which are brighter and more durable? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I have Meprolights on all but one of my Glocks, It has Factory night Sights on it, for the price you can not beat Glock NS Or Meprolight.. The Glock factory NS Use Meprolight tubes..
I'm a fan of the Mepros. I have used both Trijicon's and Mepros, and I find that I can pick up the dots better on the Mepros.

I've had Meps and Trijicons. I found the Trijicons to be just a tad brighter, but I'm not sure if 5% (probably less) more brightness is worth the extra money. I plan to put Tru-glo TFOs on my next G19. Goodluck with your decision.

Meprolights are great. Go with a Yellow or Orange rear sight for better contrast (I prefer the Orange, despite the decreased life span).

How do you find the life span of different colors?

Orange is listed as having a 5-year guarantee; yellow and green are guaranteed for 12. For me, the Orange provided a contrast benefit. Yellow would be my second choice, but I can barely discern it from Green.

I like the sights from Ameriglo (they use Trijicon lamps). The particular model I like most is the Smooth Slope sights.
I put the trijicons with the green front and two yellow rears on all my Glocks. I love it, my eye is drawn right to that front sight.

Tru Glo TFOs or Meps.
Go with the Trij. or the Mepro. The Glock nightsights take a special crimping tool for the front sight. the Trij. and Mepro. use a screw on the front sight. I have both Trij. and Mepro. The night sight part of both look the same to me. They glow the same. The Mepro. seems to have a brighter white dot for daytime shooting. I can see the Mepro. better during the day. I think you would be happy with either.
I have trijicons and mepros and like them both. My only advise is to get some good sight paint and apply it to the outer rings to make them more visible during the day, the white is not as noticeable as a bright orange or green.

Me too..
TFO's on two Glocks and Meps on a P239.. TFO's are awesome and can take a beating.
I'm pretty enamored with the Sevigny sights right now so I'd say step outside of the Mepro/Trij box and take a hard look at them.
I've only got the Competition sights on one gun but i'm going to seriosly look at the Tritium dot models for comonality of sight picture.

I was wondering about something similar for my Glock 34.
The Heinie Slant Pro Tritium (straight eight) with the CGR race cut (http://www.gunracing.com/Qstore/Qstore.cgi?CMD=009&DEPT=000001&CAT=000002&BACK=A0007A1B0000001B1). Thinking maybe it’s the best of all worlds.
Anyone have any feedback on those?

I tried the Race-cut Heinies in the past and they are very good sights.
I *think* I actually like the Sevigny sights better but I can't compare them side by side.
Try the Sevigny night sights or the Warren Tacticals

My 21SF came with Glock night sights, and I like them. I wish the front blade was a little narrower, but they will work.
I should be recieving the TFO's I ordered for my G17 today, and I will post on them later. I am also a bowhunter, so the idea of fiber optics and tritium combined is very appealing. All of my bowsights have fiber optic pins.

I'm looking into these Sevigny Carry Sights:

I like how they do not have the serated rear sight and they do have yellow tritium rears as well.
Thanks for all the input guys.

Recently put on Adjustable Meprolight Night Sights on my G29. Front post is TWICE as tall as factory front sight. Had to take a 1/4" round file to my cheapo Fobus range holster and file out a relief channel for the front post.
