Thanks for the repies so far on Wolf shotshells.. now, how about S & B/ 9 ct 00 buck loads? The ones with the clear shells? I can get this very cheap, too, and I'm wondering if anyone has tried it..

Pretty decent.
The ones I bought had some goofy horsehair wads that stunk like burning hair when I shot them.
No problems here.
Have fired approx 500 rounds in the last 5 years.
They went through a Benelli auto, Remington 870, Winchester Defender, and Mossy 590A1 and 500 AT with ZERO issues.

I'm leaning towards the S & B.. I've never heard of stinky shotgun wads! ;)

They stink . . . horse hair wads or something stinky.
They work okay but patterns I find are usually larger than most and often have a flyer. Can be a problem if you are trying to do "precision" shots like hostage rescue situations.
Also, I find that I have more problems loading them in ejection port loading exercises. They have a rolled crimp instead of a standard crimp on the top of the cartridge so they are slightly longer.
Other than that, I have shot quite a bit but only in an effort to save money. If I can find other rounds for about the same money I will usually go with the other rounds.
I've not been too happy with the loads for pellet spread and some funky ejection issues (this is the 9 pellet round). It works but I believe there is better stuff out there.

Like Morris said they do not work well in all shotguns, I have had problems with them in pumps and semi auto's. I received a free case of them at a shot show years ago, tried a box of them and sold the rest.
I like/use Ranger in my shotguns.

Thanks for all the reviews!
I've put about 30 rounds of it (12-pellet) through my Moss 500, no problems. I use it as my defense load currently.

Got my FN and the case of S & B several months ago.. the only downsides to the S & B are the non reloadable [or difficult to reload] hulls, and that they are a bit tight loading into the FN mag tube. They do go in but just a bit tight..takes an extra push. They feed perfectly, however, and 12/00 pellets are an impressive thing to see in a target. I didn't notice any stinky smells
I like S&B, no problems. I especially like the 12 pellet 00buck loads. Most of the other brands are 9 pellet.

I've fired hundreds of the 12 pellet load through everyhting from a Mossy 500 to a Benellis M3 (and soon, a custom Saiga 12).
No problems here. I use them for the range all the time
