Which color FO sights?

I am considering Dawson fiber optic sights on my G34. Anyone have any comments on which colors are preferred? Green front and rear, or red front and green rear?

I had considered TruGlo fiber and tritium, but they would hang over the slide cutout and also shorten the sight radius considerably. I am leaning toward the Dawson sights as this primarly is a range gun.

I've tried both on my G34 (FO Fronts & Rears) and found I prefer the plain rear with the red FO front. The sight picture gets a little too "busy" for me with FO fore and aft. IMHO, with the Dawson target rear, the FO front makes maintaining front sight focus easier...

Thanks - the extra confusion with FO front and rear is something I had not considered.

I guess everybody's different. The Dawson target rears (fixed or adjustable-used both, like both) with their .100 FO front is perfect for me. Groups were OK with the FO rears but no better...and, it slowed me considerably attaining sight picture especially, during longer sessions. With the plain rear the front really "pops out" and FS acquisition is immediate, clean and stays that way.

Thanks for the input. I have some Dawson's ordered, and will try just the front sight at first and experiment later.

Ahhhhh.. The eternal question. I posted this same question along with a poll. After about several dozen reponses it seemed to all come down to personal preferenc. I would suggest getting tubes of both colors and trying them out to see what you like.

My "real" gun has the green tube, while my .22 slide has the red installed. Heinie slant pro plain rear, .105 Dawson FO front.

No real reason, other than the fact that I can.

Just to try them out, I bought HiViz sights from Lone Wolf for my G35. I went with green rear and the .09 red front. It seems like a pretty good combination. I didn't mind the FO front sight hanging over the slide cut out. But, I did really like the red on the front though. From others' comments I might have to throw a plain rear sight on there to try it out.
